What do you think of the Eve Collector's Edition
If you want to have a look at the content again, click here.
Personally, I appreciate all the work that's gone into it, but I don't feel like parting with 150 Euros for it ($200 or -ú130).
I think the best items are the Amarr equipment for DUST (I can see myself using them).
The golden pod is a cool vanity item.
The tattoos would be excellent - if I was into tattoos.
But I probably wouldn't use much else. For example, the Eve ships could get destroyed a bit too easily, and I'm not sure that they would be my first choice of ships for their designed functions.
What do you think?
Has anybody got any suggestions as to what should be included in the Collector's Edition |

I bought it for the Eve Symphony, Gold Pod, and book. In that order. Looking forward to blasting orchestral EvE music on the way home from work. [/sarcasm] |

I listen to the Eve Online Jukebox on YouTube when I am at work and I need some background music to help me work. It's perfect.

This pretty much. Also I have a feeling the rifter model will be underwhelming china rubbish . It's gotta look bad from at least one side, because of the USB ports. Finding players interested in a board game in english language will be challenging in my country, don't care about Dust in general. So it's 150,- for the art book and music. Not gonna happen sadly.

Same for me - mainly interested in the physical swag, in the following order were what conviced me to buy it. 190-page Hardcover GÇ£Into the Second DecadeGÇ¥ fully-illustrated history book, EVE Symphony Soundtrack CD, , GÇ£Minmatar RifterGÇ¥ combat frigate 4-port USB hub and the "Mystery Code."
I adore any and all artwork from my favourite games, EVE is no exception. And "I was there", for most of it's history. The book alone (to me) is worth about 100 euros. Also the soundtrack is simply amazing. I doubt the mystery code will offer anything amazing, some hopefully _truly exclusive_ vanity items, but still cool to have.
As for the price - well, as I've said long before, the CE is fairly competetively priced for all the stuff it will include - about the same amount of stuff goes to most Blizzard CE's (WoW, Starcraft, Diablo) and they're about the same price. |

The physical swag is the thing for me too, which if bought separately, would probably come pretty close to the price anyway

It's not unlikely that the in-game value of the items that you get for the $150 CE will exceed the value of purchasing PLEX to that value. |

I bought it,I'm not super excited about any of the items but a few of them are cool, mainly did it because I wanted to support the game, that said all the items better not be released again lol |

I had the same concerns over the Rifter model, and was worried about how it would look with the USB ports in it. Thankfully, I got a look at the prototype version of it when it came into the office. It's actually pretty good quality.
The USB ports are in two pairs, and take up the positions of the two main boosters on the back of it. The micro USB input on the back that goes to your computer is right in the center of the rear of the model, and takes up the position of the auxiliary thruster on the center of the rear of the ingame model. Also, the "cockpit" glass flickers with data activity.
I wasn't convinced either until I actually saw it. Now I'll be getting hold of one to put on mah desk!

My question is... will we ever get EVE battleship models back on the store? Or are they forever doomed to merchandice hell for their rather "premium" price and low quality. What I'd REALLY be interested to know is can 3d printer models be painted just as easily as normal paint-able models? If so, we have all the 3D models for EVE, and I could see people making a raven USB hub for the really craft (lol I could probably think of something)
But yes, getting to the collector's edition..... I like it, but only at my 150 US$ amazon price. Otherwise it's waaaay too expensive. My priority is Rifter model > Into the second decade book > soundtrack > danger game > digital goods goods > mystery code > everything else. (hurrdurrrrrrrrr sleeve tattoos ) |

My issue is that I play Eve Online, not DUST 514.
I cannot see the point of paying for stuff for a game I do not play.
If CCP were to offer an Eve Online only version, I would quite happily buy it. This is not a signature. |

I bought it primarily for the book. The big square book with the slipcase that was on the old store "Art of Eve" is just gorgeous. I have enough ISK to buy the in game items, and fully plan on buying all 8 sleeves once the people who ordered it from amazon get their codes and the price drops. Almost considered waiting to see if anyone would sell the book on eBay, but it looks as though most people who are buying this set are doing it for the book and the CD (and considering how little of the stuff from the old store is available on eBay) thought it would be a bad idea.
I also wouldn't be too worried about the quality of the USB hub. I thought the BS models were of excellent quality. Although Eve merchandise is expensive everything I have ever bought from the old Eve store in general has been of top quality. |

When the CE was announced live, I was quited excited and was like "Shut up and take my money".
But then I turned on my rational mind and noticed that most of it is not really of use to me. Specially the Danger Game, it's pointless to have a board game in English in my country, no chance to put it to use and probably it accounts for like 1/3rd of the CE price and would be a pity to acquire it just to gather dust on a shelve.
The golden pod, orchestral music CD and the Rifter are cool stuff and would buy them separately. Shiny flying bullseyes, aka special ships, are of no use. DUST items are of no use, netiher are the tattoos -and for some reason, I tought that we would be getting special clothing items instead. Virtual collectibles, well, that's not my piece of cake (if I could wear them, though...).
As for the book, well, I don't play the game for the graphics and the only thing that really could interest me of such book are the account on the Incarnageddon and the plans to have a plan in order to get a plan to plan the future development -which don't exist anyway. "We're excited about the future but have no clue on it" it's not that interesting...
As for the mistery code... well... I'm not confident to be able to put it to use.
So my rational mind says "no". CCP Unifex: -á"lurking single players (...)-áare the majority of characters on Tranquility"
...And so now we know why CCP hasn't done anything for soloers since Apochrypha. |

I thought about it for a few minutes, being fairly new to the game it would be a great way to get pulled in deeper into the whole universe. The problem is that there's too much "fluff" in there, stuff that has no real use or meaning like the special versions of normal ships and that Gnosis. Realistically all you'll get is the book, that board game and the Rifter thingy. The rest is either silly or just not to my liking although the golden pod is a strong lure.
It's not the cost, it's the content that keeps me from getting it. The adventures of a newbie: http://kyraquinn.wordpress.com/ |

Its not an eve board game, its just the board game that funded the development of eve. Like monopoly or something.
To the devs, if I buy a collectors edition, can I sell the useless dust 514 codes on the forums for ISK?
