Still, 2 questions have not been answered in this topic as far as I can see.
#1 If you create a jump clone and you switch corps, do you keep the jumpclones and the ability to use them?
#2 How do skillpoints work if you have a jumpclone? Ie, you have a normal clone in a medical facility saving X amount of skill points. You get podded and your clone in that facility is activated with you losing some skill points. Does your jump clone ALSO lose that many skillpoints?

AFAIK, the jump clone is tied to your character, if you can install it you will still have it even after switching corps. In your new corp you might not be able to get a replacement though.

Answered already:
Quote: What happens if I get podded in my "Jump Clone" ?
You can never get podded in a "Jump Clone", they are targets that you can jump to. If you get podded your normal clone contract applies. So for example, if you are in empire and clone jump to a 0.0 installation and get podded, your empire clone still remains as a "Jump Clone" target.
So, hopefully, your clone contract covers all your skill points so you won't lose any. You don't need a new contract per jump clone. --

You have to be in an installation (station/outpost/mothership/titan) with a medical facility to create a "Jump Clone", there is a second tab there in the window to install and destroy them.
To create a "Jump Clone" the owner of the installation must have at least +8 standings to you and your corporation.
There is a mistake in that statement, +8 standing are only required for NPC installations, Player controled installation can set the standing requirement as they see fit, ISS set that to a standing of +1 for exemple -----

i've read all of Jaabaa Prime's replies in this thread
from what i gather you are in effect allowed one jump clone in empire if you do not have +8 standing to an NPC corp this will be your origonal clone after you've jumped to 0.0
Question:
1) i fly to an Outpost A with cloning facilities in 0.0 space 2) i install a jump clone in A 3) i fly back to empire and dock in a station belonging to an NPC corp B 4) i clone jump from B to A - this leaves my origonal clone in empire at station B ... my current location is Outpost A 5) i fly back to empire and dock in a station belonging to an NPC corp ... this is station C
do i now have 2 jump clones in empire and am free to jump between them? if not: what will happen when i try to jump from C to B?
are we fully free to move our jump clones around and only need Medical Facilities in their initial creation?

Question: A +8 is required to acquire a jump clone. Once you acquire this jump clone, and jump into it, you can jump out of it anywhere, and get back to it where you left it, regardless of standing? So you could create a jump clone at a POS in low-sec, move your main body to one part of empire, jump to the other clone, move it to another part of empire, and jump between them 1/day? Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the oth |

Seeing as I am not an owner of an outpost, nor will I ever be, I can not comment on the player interface for jump clones. So yes, this FAQ is based on NPC values. It may be that being a member of a corporation or alliance that controls an "installation" doesn't require anything special, and CCP hasn't published the precise mechanics.
If an "owner" of a conquerable station or outpost can tell me that there is a seperate option for player owned facilities for installing jump clones and that the NPC "+8" values can be changed then please inform me/us here, I will gladly add it to the main post. --

Yes, but that requires a lot of travel and at least level 2 in Infomorph Pychology, if I understand you correctly. --

Sarleena's question was basicaly the same as mine except without paragraphs, bold or a nice example
so from what i'm gathering you only need a non-npc station or a +8 standing NPC station to initialy install and create a jump clone
once it's created you can move it wherever you like by jumping to it and flying to a different station, yes? that's awesom ... you should add that to the front page |

Edited by: AGENT KW on 28/12/2005 12:19:07 Anybody know how Corporation standing is derived from personal standing ??
I took the following steps to figure this out; kicked all my alts out of the corp, so IÆm a 1 man corp, ran some missions and waited for a down time to make sure all the standing changes are applied.
Both the NPC corps I have decent standings to showed a corp standing of 82% of my personal.
To put a figure to it, you would need to have a personal standing of +9.75 (with no skills applied) to the NPC corp to achieve a corp standing of +8.
Clearly to increase my Roden standing from +9.06 to +9.75 would take a life time, itÆs easier to join an alliance with access to a conquerable station.
Essentially jump clones are for alliance members with conquerable stations, or very hardcore mission runners.
Everyone else can go and suck an egg, cheers CCP !

Got 3 more things for you Jaba whitch I do not realy am sure.
1. Can you jump to the jump clone if you are in the same station as the jump clone? (Reason: You clone after you died in the same station were you have the jump clone with implants) 2. Can you remotely destroy your jump clone? (Meaning you do not have to dock to the station that have the jump clone) (Reason: You have to many jump clones in the same station and you are jumps and jumps away, or you had jump clones in a conquarable station whitch is now under enemy control, and you cannot dock to destroy it). 3. If you had a jump clone to a player conq station, and it was now conquered by enemies whitch obviosly are -10, can you still clone jump to that station? (If they didn't destroyed your jump clone, IF they can destroy your jump clone) _________________________________

I don't know about TQ, but when I tried it on Sisi before the patch it said something about me already having a clone in the station that would be destroyed if I were to do it.
Something that has to be tested on Sisi I guess, unless you want to risk implants on TQ.

I don't think so, the destroy option is only available in the station's medical facility if I remember rightly.

Maybe the new owner can destroy/cancel jump clone contracts, maybe standings will stop you from activating a clone, I simply don't know, sorry. --

I tried with an alt. If you try to jump in the same station one clone will get destroyed. Now I have no idea if the jump clone you want to jump in is gettind destroyed, or the clone that should be left behind after the jump is destroyed. Anyone can test? _________________________________

The corporate standing part of Clone jumping appears to a little understood but important issue.
Focusing on NPC corporations the answer to your questions is as follows. (Based on information taken from player guide, discussions with GM's and dev blogs in the last 6 months)
Player personal standings to NPC Corporations are increased/decreased directly by doing/refusing/abandoning missions or killing NPC's.
Player Corporation standings to NPC corporations are the result of an averaging process based on the indivdual memebers un-adjusted for skills standings to that NPC corporation. The averaging process is a gradual adjustment re-calcualted each DT where over time the standing drifts towards the 'True' average value. Comments like above are based on the mis-understanding of the this 'Drift Averaging' process put in place by CCP.
To obtain the required +8.0 Player Corporation standing tothe NPC corporation the owns the station where you want to install your Jump Clone takes time due to the 'Drift Averaing' process and also the need for some corporation player memebrs having to work extra hard to boost their personal standings to compensate for other player members who have yet to reacht eh +8.0 standing and are therefore dragging down the Payer Corporations True Average' standing.
But at this current point in time there is a 'Small Problem' with the 'Drift Averaging' process in that it has not been working for the last 2 weeks and is only just start workign again 2 days ago on NPC corporations that had a value greater than +0.6 or less than -0.2 pre-RMR.
Petitions have been lodged but no responses on when this 'Issue' is going to be resolved.
Remember that this standing calcualtion is based off players personal standings which are workig correctly and therefore no Corporation standings will get lost during this time, just the process of 'Drift' will take longer once it is full operational again.

Devs must have fixed something - My one map corp has now achieved a standing of +8.55 with Roden, with a personal standing of 9.06.
Only problem, the buggers don't have any cloning facilities !
Will have to work on my Kaal standing, itÆs around 7.5.
Anyway this is very encouraging, saves me paying ISS for the privilege of using their cloning facilities.

Ok think of Jump clones as assets. Clone activation as a liability. Jump clones look like assets in your tabs. They show your implants thru folders like your assets.
Now the important thing is Jump Clones are not Clone activation. When your podded you go where you clone activation is. You have to manualy jump to a Jump Clone.
Some question about same station jumps to Jump Clones. Why would you do that. Why would you place a Jump clone in your clone activation station?
Now to the more important part. Jump Clones are assets. So here you are in your Outpost. You see enemy forces coming and install an Jump clone to you outpost. You know you Clone Activation will be moved. You can always come back to your outpost when ever you want. Yes you have a day thier before you can jump back to another clone.
Implants are now MODS. You can setup your Jump Clones for specfic applications. I can now buy speed implants for my 0.0 trade runner. I can buy small hybrid implants for my AF clone. I can buy Crystal for my Raven clone. You see now when you want to be an AF pilot you now have a bonus to be able to gear your implants that way.
This changes everything. The rich will have a Clone for every occasion.. --------------------------

as if to rub salt in the fresh wound; Pilots who opt to remain in their original school corp and achieve an appropriate standing with long-established (npc) corps with appropriate facilities are able to use the "project rebirth" technology with very little hassle. No criticism of these pilots is intended, but personally i feel that those who branched out and made a decision to join a band of like-minded pilots (in a player corp) are being penalised for their choice in this; if they wish to make use of this technology, they must leave their corp, install clones as required, then rejoin their corp (or pay the fee established by owners of capturable ststions).... seems a bit pointless for new pilots now to join any corp; stay with your school and be able to use this technology after working up the personal standings only.

We own our own conquerable station in 0.0, I wanted to jump into a jumpclone for preserving my implants in battle.
I bought a jumpclone in station, stopped my skill training, activated the jump clone, and nothing happens. Is it not possible to activate a jumpclone when you are on the same station?
Also I lost two expensive implants while doing this. I had 9 at start with, now I only have 7..Suggestions?

I can attest to the character standing "following" you when you change corps. I recently joined a new corp and previously had 3 jump ability with two npc corps. I now have no ability to use them.

I got on singularity to do some testing with implants.
I went to station A with implant 1,2,3,4,5 plugged in I installed a clone jump I went to station B and activated the jump clone (located in station A). I ended up in station A of course, with no implant plugged in. I plugged implant 6 and 7. I waited a day. I activated the clone jump left behind in station B. I ended up in station B, with implants 1,2,3,4 and 5. The clone jump in station A in the character sheet was showing up with implant 6 and 7. I waited a day. I activated the clone jump in station A again. I ended up in station A, but with no implant !!!
I would have expected to have implant 6 and 7. Is it a bug or is it the intended behaviour ? If it's a bug, is it just on singularity or is it the same on tranquility ?
