Edited by: Grim Starwind on 16/12/2005 10:40:40 well, first of all I'm ****ed off because I was up 'til like 12:30GMT waiting ont he patch to be released. But it wasn't so I went to bed. THEN when I woke up this morning I tried to auto patch and it wouldn't. So I downloaded the update patch from the patch section on the site. Then it started installing got to a file called tut2 and stopped said it was corrupt and my version of eve couldn't be varified. But it's the correct update I downloaded from the last version of eve. I'm sooo sooo soo ****ed off. And now it's half installed and EVE won't autopatch it. AHH! so I've now gotta download the full client and uninstall the whole of eve first. So I tried taken my settings folder out of the cache so I don't lose my bookmarked folders. 'cause if I do I'll be the most ****ed off person in all of eve. Thank you very stinking much!

I'm also in the same situation.
'not verified' message every 1% I download using autopatching, and I can't even see the RMR patch in the manual patching list....
What a*****-up by CCP.
There's no way I'm reinstalling the whole thing unless i have to - anyone known how to proceed?

omg... I'm downloading the full client just now. If it messes up I'm getting on a plain to CCP HQ and throwing some grenades in. This sucks, just as I was getting right into eve aswell now I can't play it. Plus I'm not gonna be at my own house this weekend so can't play again 'til monday. What a big poo ccp is. Why have so many other people managed to join the server though =S

I downloaded the patch in the patch section too. It's still got a problem on it. So now I'm getting the full client and I just hope this works since it's took an hour to download. grr I tell thee, just.... grrrr.

No, It stops at a file called tut2. I said that. It tells me the file is corrupt and it doesn't know my version of eve. Also, how would I replace the file? With what? I can't get a random file from my butt. anyway, full client on the download. so hopefully... that replaces the file =D since it won't be there moahahahah

The auto patch would not work for me either. However, i downloaded the patch manually from the website and everything is now in order. I am sorry to hear you are having so much trouble Grim Starwind. Please remember there is bound to be some teething problems with a new patch for a game of this size. I hope you get the problems fixed soon m8. Good Luck.

ain't no thing but a g-string on a chicken wing dude. I just hope the full client install works. could someone tell me though, I have copied my "settings" folder from the cache folder. Is that what I need to keep to keep my BM's in their folders. Or is there anything else I'll need to copy to keep like my overview and what not settings.

I believe the in-client autopatch will not work. Try downloading the patch from the "Patches" area of this website.

yes, I'm downloading the full client which should be finished in 10min. Also I no longer need help with the cache stuff. I have it under control well anywho. Hopefully this full client nonsense works. and by that time the server are back online. I just want to play eve. Is it so much to ask?

Same thing happening to me: downloads 1 per cent then says "download complete authentificiation failed try again" and you try again and same thing happens over and over. Tried it last night, tried it this morning. Telling me to manually put in some file or the other named something or the other makes no sense: i download huge patches on other games, etc. all the time with no problem and I don't have to go messing around with some tech like stuff to make it work: jeez. Nothing personal against the devs but can they can get someone from some other game company that knows how to do patches, maybe as a consultant? Great game but if I can't get it to download the update I would rather just have the old game back so I can play. Oh well just frustrating as hell: not a techie so folks telling me to manually do this or that is just frustrating! What the heck I liked Eve before Exodus much better, wish we could just have that: the heck with all these messed up patches.

Unless my eyes have gone funny, I don't see any RMR patch in the 'EVE Patches' part of this site.
The latest patch there is:
ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2 Patches version 2.08.3582 (Released 2005.09.13) to 2.09.3796 62.7 MB
So please tell me where to get the patch (officially) if not via auto patch.
I've seen other posts with a link to a patch.exe, but am I supposed to trust these?!? What am i supposed to do, just run the .exe file?!? How do I know it isn't a virus etc?

Dude, that's the correct version we've ment to be installing. and as for knowing it doesn't have a virus. Why don't you scan the file you download? But anyway.. Yeah 2.09.3796 is what the RMR version is apparently.

I guess you are one of the "happy fews" who have big troubles with the CCP installer.... I'm, kind of, in the same situation here. I can install without problems Eve from full client on my laptop(runnning win2K), my brother's laptop(runnig xp pro... err before, now linux:p), my 2k3 box, but for a strange reason i can't install EVE on my or my brother's desktop under Xp Pro. All computers are roughly installed the same way(i did all the installations and upgrades myself).
The only workaround i found is to install it on a box where it works and copy it to the box i want to play. Then aptching(auto or manual) seems to work.
Good luck to you, i know how it can be frustrating when things like that happens....

Like I said previously - The date of the latest patch in EVE Patches says september. I'll try downloading this anyway, but it doesn't have any indication that this is the RMR patch.
The links from forum posts containing a 'patch.exe' file are NOT official (one points to a swedish mirror site, etc..) in my opinion and there is nothing to stop one of these being a malicious file. Yes, I could run a scan before installing but why should I have to download patches in this unofficial way anyway?
Look at all the hassle everyone is having - they need to put out a message of how to download, in light of auto-patch not working.
I repeat - a big ****-up by CCP...

well, for me I FINALLY got the game to work. I used an old full client file I had in my downloads folder. I installed that. then I downloaded the update file from the old version I had to the new RMR version and it finally worked. Only after downloading a full client file and 2 patch update files do I finally get one to work! Oh well, no more complaints for me. Except Get it right up you! Ya scum bugs! took me all this time. I've never had any problems before though with patching so meh. Cho now guys

i can;t get it to work, auto patch is FUBAR and the manual stops half way saying corrupt file ****

It's amazing how resistent to information some people are..
There about 200 Threads about the same thing, most of them presenting the solution (manual download of the patch) and even the possibility to verify the download (see my sig).
The client patch works like a charm. Don't make it more complicated than actually it is. ----------
Verify client downloads with MD5 checksums! |

Thread locked.
There were at least a double figure number of threads on the same subject and the patch you pasted was indeed the correct one.
Volume of people trying to autodownload causes problems too.
