Hi, well I'm old in MMORPG since UO, I'm programmer to, and really understand how hard is maintain stability in complex multi user programs like EvE, but you also have to consider the user, I'm on trial now, I was planing buy the game, but now I have 3 of 6 days in trial playing bad (bad first impression) anyway some friends tell me this is uncommon The question is, have you planed extend trial accounts for recover missing days? only 14 days on trial, and just 3 of 6 days playing, 3 days missed is not fair

tbh I think they should credit all active accounts. It is just as appropriate to people who are on a trial as it is to those who are in their first thirty days of full purchase, or any paid month after that imo

Was wondering about that too...would be nice if we get some extra days to our running Trial.

So you missed a few days, it was a major patch. Alot of games you dont get a 14 day free trial. You said you been playing for a few days. I'd say you have played enough to determine if you plan on buying the game or not. but since your whining about getting more free days added to your free trial it sounds like you dont plan on paying to play.

I was giong to write something about how the paying customers have paid $1.50 during this period of lag. Then how its not really that much since we all go to play the game, albeit slightly slower and with some bugs. I was then going to offer to pay pall you abouy a dollar for your 'troubles'.
Then I realized you havent paid for **** yet, adn shouldnt be entitled to money or an extension.
Then I realized this is just a wrothless flame post and I should stop ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever |

What he is suggesting is that you postpone this test for a week or so until the after-patch situation has stabilized, and then redoing it with a new trial (not much to loose here yet if I'm not mistaken). And seeing that alot of new players actually redo their characters anyway because after their trial they have a better opicture of it all and actually know what to choose at character creation ;)

Major patches (and I think this exceeds that definition) always entail play disruption. Starting a free trial on the eve (no pun intended) of a major game overhaul is bad timing.
I think extending trial accounts by a couple days would be good form to encourage people just trying out the game. That being said, the upheaval of the current period is never going to give a good first taste because everything is changing. People just gotta understand this, folks in Starter School Channels need to explain this to the new folks.
Basically if you can't deal with change and daily downtimes, it's not going to work out anyhow.
They've already put things in place to keep 14 day trials from being abused as a way of getting free playtime. The people who still can benefit from a free trial are the people seriously considering getting a paid account, and these folks should be encouraged and reassured IMO.
(and no I don't think all accounts should get free days, if you've been playing MMOs for any period of time you know outages during transitions are just part of MMO life.)

well, you probably had your full trial ... others not, at least not in a satisfactory way. no reason to call newbies whining hippocrites
most people (myself included) want to give eve a real chance, despite of major inconvieniences, else they wouldnt waste 4 days. i¦m sure ccp will extend the trail period for a few days, that would certainly heighten their rep as a customer-friendly company.

I've been playing mmo's for a few years now. Everyone I've played has charged for expansions. True you didn't have to buy them and this one was more end game content and not really a full blown expansion, but still its free. All added content is free. CCP could easily have charged $15-$30 for this and would have prolly sold tens of thousands. So in my way of thinking everyone just got a 1-2 months free play. If CCP does issue some free play days it goes above and beyond the call imho. Of course CCP don't seem to be your normal money hungry mmo. It's more for the gamers by gamers and thats what holds it dear to my heart after only 21 of 23 days played.
Point #2. There hasn't been a single mmo that I've played that didn't have any problems on any patches ever released. Some patches go smoother than others. This one didn't go well, but it happens to all mmo's. Deal with it. You can bet everything you own that CCP is doing their level best to fix the problems. Has anyone stopped to think how much sleep these guys must have lost to try and make this right for free? I would feel ashamed to ask for what is being asked here in this thread. Don't you?

CCP is pretty agreeable in these matters. My guess is they are so focused on fixing all the stuff that they can't worry about crediting everyone at the moment. If they came on and said they were giving everyone this or that in exchange for down time, it'd be premature sicne things aren't fixed yet. ---- Would you like some cries with your whaaamburger? |

Anyone who has a free trial can get a "few more days" added on easily...get another free trial. Seriously, they're 14 days, how much time could you have really lost, especially now that they've put limits on what you can learn?
I've played plenty of MMO's and they've rarely if ever given paying customers credit, I seriously doubt they're going to do anything for the people playing for free.

In the past ccp has been kinda generous when it came to trials and server sided downtime, so ... I guess you'll jsut have to wait until they get the most burning stuff fixed.
Welcome to EVE ;-)

Getting a new account doesn't transfer the toon you already started.
I would like to CCP extend the current Trial accounts 2-3 days. If will cost them less to do that than they will make in a month if the person signs up for the game.
Seriously, for us paid account users, I think we've been ripped off about .96 cents, so no worries. But it sucks for the Trial people, because 3 out of 14 days is almost 25% less playing time. I want these people to join the game, not leave because they joined the few days CCP has problems with the patch. This never happens, so CCP needs to tell the Trial people this. ------------- Awaiting Destiny

Well, considering we're looking at at least a week of disrupted service, I think it's only fair that trial accounts get some form of extension.
I know we all knew that RMR was going to be released Soon(tm), but that doesn't mean some new guy who only just found out about Eve is going to have that same kind of knowledge. In fact, it's completely unreasonable to expect someone who's just starting out Eve to have any idea what is going with patches and content expansions, and the like. They don't know this game from Adam, yet.
I think it would be fair for CCP to credit all currently active Trial accounts with another 7 days or so. Trial accounts are supposed to be a way of hooking people into the game, and you can't do that they can't actually play. I know it would be crediting some of the exploiters with extra days, as well, but they already run multiple trial accounts, so it's not like they'd be loading the server anymore than they already are.

You not understand, I have 3 days playing and 3 days buged, but these 3 days I was playing hard without sleep, I already delete my first char after read al possible guides, already have a new char and only in 2 days playing really hard, I already have long Skills, all learning in lvl 2 or 3, gunnery and ship skill in 3 or 4, I won several millions and have inverted it on full armed Merlin and Cormorant, maybe this not much for veteran but is hard to get it in 2 days.
Why I play so hard? I just want to see middle zones and game play on the trial for decide if buy the game, and after see no noob zones, I not really interest on start again. If I can test what I want know and the game like me, I will buy it, else I don't buy it, but I don't start again my hard work, losing my always nick account and char, all time I plane continue this char if I buy the game, I play hard for this, this is the point. Anyway this is not an demand, this is just an suggestion, and I think CCP need consider this seriously, I'm sure I'm not alone, anyway this is they business.
