I think the Moa looks like a piece of disgarded 1980's audio/visual equipment, but that's my opinion.
Something I think most people would agree upon is that missile launchers in general need an update. They should be visible on our ships and the missles should come from the launchers! |

I like the Cormorant. Its the only Space 1999ish ship in EVE.
Imicus/Helios. While I can sort of see the rationale for a cov ops looking like it grew under a pile of dead leaves on the forest floor, it really needs to be redesigned. |

Moa is by far the ugliest! The name reflects it, it needs visual changes along with hybrid hyper hype. Ship may become useful, but not very popular. Please, let Moa reinhabit the new world. Don't let Caldari birds die in instinction |

You're absolutely correct, people wanting the spaceships they fly and not the test tube clone body they just so happen to be in in a spaceship command simulator to look appealing is just absurd. If something is only made better only by ignoring it or even becoming desensitized to it ('zoom out' and 'it grows on you' respectively), then it must be fine and not worth looking into. |

I'll flay you if you suggest one more time to change the Moa into some hideous symmetrical block.
Spaceships don't have to be attractive. The Moa is fine. Crucible Moa looks even better. It's amazing what bringing the textures in line with today's standards can do.
You know what really needs to be redone?

If it were up to me, I'd make a few Gallente ships a little less bulbous and organic looking. Specifically the Celestis, Dominix (I kind of like the way the Domi looks at the moment - ominous, but maybe a little streamlining or slight restructure is in order), Exequror and possibly the Hyperion (just a little bit).
The Moa doesn't look good. |

I never noticed that before! Nice, haha. Definitely gave the Dominix some flair.
I had never been a fan of the Brain shape of the domi myself. I get that it looks solid, down to earth and fits a ship that conveys the be-there-when-you-need-him vibe but I think a re-texturing to de-emphasize the play-dough effect (which IMO is a design flaw) by partitioning the sections will go a long way to improving the overall perception of the dominix. Being fat and cute is nice but when the Black Ops Sin is using the same model it really sticks out. It also needs bigger or more thrusters.
The Imicus though, no amount of fixing can help that one. It needs a complete redo. |

Has anyone mentioned the raven, it could look cool, but whats up with it having a gimped wing of one side lol, usually the caldari ships are pretty good in the fact they are symmetrical but the raven looks rather stupid with a big wing on one side and a gimped wing on the other. |

I quite like the overweight little metal ostrich with the overstuffed suitcase now. It is one of the ships that are uniquely EVE Online's. Quite a few ships could use a facelift, Moa likely among them. But I'd mourn that lumpen shape for a long time. Anyways, carry on.

- Osprey
- Ashimmu
But that's just me. There was a time I wouldn't hesitate to put the Dominix on that list but it's grown on me enough to forgive it. The Apocalypse is my personal least favorite hull in the game but I know it has a serious fan base. wait? whats wrong witht he Apocalypse and Ashimmu???? i do compleatly agree with the rest though
Apoc looks really bad. Never liked the look of it. Kinda like a rotten banana.
IMO Drake looks fine. Also Raven should be symmetrical.
I'd add some other ships to the list: - Tempest - Typhoon - Dominix - Arbitrator |

But most Gallente and Caldari ships are ugly....especially Celestis, Caracal and Raven... Yikes, totally forgot about the Caracal. It looks like a shiny metal twig. The Raven is a mess, although it's not as universally despised as some. I don't hate it, it's kinda utilitarian but not retina-charring. Here's another one: Does anyone actually like the pattern of the navy issue Gallente ships? Navy Issue Mega...great ship ruined by jungle camo. Think about it for a sec. Jungle camo. In space. lolwat.
THIS ^^
I used to love my black and silver navy megathron, I had to stop using it the day it got jungle camo

Minmitar Carrier. It's so ugly it's sinful.
It looks like they were halfway through with construction when they ran out of material, let it sit unpainted in the hangar until it rusted, then sold it anyway.

Could we just give the T2 ships a make over that makes them more then a T1 ship with a differnt collor.
Sure you can still show which hull it originated from but make it different from it-¦s T1 mother. show the modifications the Herron hull needed before able to to use a covert-ops cloaking device for example.

I always talked myself into thinking that the Moa looks like Godzilla from the side... :::shrug:::
I think the Caldari ships look like their corporate philosophy should lead you to believe. Its a matter of function over form. THey are utilitarian, functional and should just work. Who cares if they're pretty. Caldari wouldnt spend extra resources making them look good.
I took time off from the game for a few years. When I came back the first thing I noticed was they "fixed" my Scorpion and made it symetrical. At first I liked it. But the more I thought about it the less I liked it. I wish it had the old skin now. (It's still my favorite ship...) The Raven, on the other hand, is a non functional design in parts. Look at the bridge. Its hanging out front on a pod... like a carrot on a stick. No warship designer would have stuck their captain and bridge crew out in the open like that. It should be integrated into the hull and well protected.
I do, however, have to agree with one of the other posters. Gallente ships are far too bulbous and organic. Some are fine, some need a bit of a tweak and some... :::shudder:::. Gallente are sleek and efficient. Have you seen their racial captains quarters yet? The quarters and the ships are incongruous...
Minmatar ships... don't touch them. They SHOULD look like they were put together from spare parts. They're rusty. If there were sound in space they would rattle and creak. You come into the world screaming, naked and bloody.-á Play your cards right and that doesn't have to change... |
