So I understand why they were removed from High-sec in the first place. But I wouldn't mind seeing them back in high-sec with limitations of course. For example, we could get system wide effects that target capitals specifically that would offline those modules during their visit to highsec. Another thing that could be implemented would be empire cyno beacons. Meaning you'd have to have standing with the empire faction to transverse their space.
I know that this thread will probably go down the drain rather quickly but I'm just throwing my idea out there. |

Just asking here, but If it was all cons and no pros. why would people drag Capitals into hisec?
What do you see people doing with them in hisec? I suddenly woke up thinking I had a nightmare, then remembered I can't even fly Amarr Battleships. I add bits to this when I'm bored https://www.dropbox.com/s/foijsawsqolarom/EVE_Online.html |

In before PL hotdrop of highsec mining ops. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

Well,
I was going to say just cap modules but then thoughts of dreads with large guns tanking concord and blapping new players filled my mind. Same with carriers and fighters/drones.
I just think that some players wouldn't mind bringing caps through high-sec and it could give high-sec/new players something to look at that might draw them out to null-sec.
But yeah, I guess it would be mostly a gimmick to show them off. |

Hence why I suggested that all modules were put offline while they visited high-sec. |

I don't think that actually seeing the ship tempts newbies anymore than seeing then on the market, especially since they wouldn't actually be able to do anything which shows a reason they would want to fly it, such as a carrier using fighters or a dread absolutely wrecking a Bs. A.) How do you get them into highsec? Light a cyno? If you can light a cyno in highsec, suddenly you can hotdrop there too.... No thank you!!! If you can light a cyno in highsec, JF routes to/from jita just got INSANELY risk free. No more having to worry about travel through Uedema or Niarja (suicide ganker systems), because you can cyno directly into Jita, and back out again!! If you can light a cyno in highsec, deploying around the universe just got easy and risk free. No more choke point lowsec systems, you simply cyno to highsec, and move highsec to highsec under complete concord security. If youc an light a cyno in highsec, why EVER use a freighter again. Undock Amarr, Cyno Jita. Undock Jita, Cyno Dodixie. Undock Dodixie, Cyno Rens... There's no more travel time! B.) Why? While showing off your prized possession, or running level 4's with carrier support might be "fun", does this benefit the game at all? Most people would use this mechanic to keep their supers safe! Why store your titan in hostile lowsec space or bubble-happy nullsec? Just cyno your titan/supercarrier it to remote and safe highsec so concord can protect you! Instant travel is a BAD thing, not a good thing. Why would you make it easier? In short, I see no way to support this!!!!
P.S. You can already get your cap ship into highsec. Log it off, in space. Make sure your med clone is set to your desired highsec station. Deactivate your account for 6-ish months. Reactivate it, and you often appear in the station your med clone was set to, in the ship you were flying. (Note: They may have fixed this "trick", and I don't have an account to deactivate for 6 months to test the theory out). |

Translation: I want to see a real live Capital Ship but am scared scatless to leave the safety of HiSec.
Alternate Translation: I want my very own Capital Ship but don't want it blowed up. I don't care if I can't really use it as it was meant, I just want to feel special. Gate campers are just Carebears with anger issues. |

While this sounds like a fun idea on the cover, what it would actually cause when given to the Eve player base would be really bad for High Sec. Even if you remove the ability to use ALL capital modules in high sec(Yeah dreads become pretty silly) carriers would still severely disrupt the balance of high sec. A carrier doesn't have to fit capital modules to field 10 drones, 5 heavy neuts, tackle and a massive buffer tank .
Cyno's up!
There are already ships that are allowed in high sec that can do anything a carrier could do with 2 exceptions:
1) Cyno into high sec systems 2) Field 10 drones/fighters
If your reasoning is you're tired of moving things all over, Red-Frog Freight is a very good service at a very good price. Look them up.
And if you're just wanting to see them 'in the wild', as it were, then take a trip to Low sec. The Law is a point of View |
