Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie and was just wondering what the best implants are for skill training and where to buy them?
I currently have Cybernetics Lvl II and want to know what implant set would give me the best output on my training queue?
Any help appreciated. Thanks. |

Look for the basic variants of each attribute implant and fir the absolute maximum at your cybernetic level, look for a standard cerebral accelerator under contracts, though they run for 140mil+ "The homogenization of EVE began when Gallente and Caldari started sharing a weapon system."---Vermaak Doe-- "Ohh squabbles ohh I love my dust trolls like watching an episode of Maury with less " Is he my Dad " but more of " My Neighbor took a dump on my lawn " good episode! *pops more corn*" ---Evernub-- |

It all depends on how much ISK you're willing to put down to get the implants - and then to replace them if things go sideways on you and you get them blown out of your skull.
At Cybernetics II, you can't fit anything more powerful than the +3 implants; +4 unlock with Cybernetics IV, and +5 unlock with Cybernetics 5, but +5 implants are another example of diminishing returns (a single +5 costs as much as a full +4 set).
A full +2 set can be bought for the price of a cheap cruiser, while a full +3 set goes for the price of a cheap battlecruiser.
And unless you know you're going to be sticking with training one set of skills for quite a while (all gunnery, for example, or all leadership), in my opinion, you're better served by a full learning set. Cybernetics IV does not take long to train and will qualify you for +4 learning implants which are still not that expensive (but not that chaep either) so that is a reasonable goal, time-wise. Only once you are comfortable with the risks and dangers of the game and have a few billion ISK, you should aim for +5 implants, imo. Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20.

Generally you want to buy implants in a trade hub. The volume of movement there tends to create the best prices, but that is a general rule and NOT necessarily true.
Try Dodixie, Rens, Jita, or Amarr.
Cyper I: Limited Implants give +1 to an attribute, and are really cheap Cyber I: Limited Beta Implants give +2 to an attribute and are about 1-3m each Cyber I: Basic Implants give +3 to an attribute and are about 8-13m, each. Cyber IV: Standard Implants give +4 to an attribute and are about 20-30m, each Cyber V: Improved implants give +5 to an attribute and are about 100-130m, each
Each skill you train has a primary and secondary attribute. For example, cybernetics is Intelligence Primary, and Memory Secondary. If you are focusing your training (i.e. training mostly int-mem skills for mechanics, electronics, engineering, industry), then you really only need the two implants boosting your int and mem. |

A lot of us dont bother paying for a +3 Charisma implant because there are the least amount of skills using it as it's primary attribute. It's only really Trade skills.
So if you intend to be anything other than an trade/industry dude, it may be fine to buy a cheapy +2. True facts: The Tarzier survives in the forest by disguising itself as a teddybear having a colonoscopy. |

Of course the reverse is also true: If your goal is to become a professional station trader, the +5 Charisma implant should be the first one that you buy. The sound of the Amarrian heart |

Or an FC. Or a mighty CEO of some Corp. But besides that, Charisma truly has the least uses for skill training. If you have EveMon (and you should), best check out the skills/skillgroups that rely on Charisma and get them out of the way, then live happily ever after without bothering with this attribute again. +3 implants are what you want to stick with from the start. Unless you're in null/wh, you shouldn't be losing your pod much, so it isn't a huge risk. Go with the full set of +3s. You are going to be training a wide variety of skills to start so the full set will benefit you quite a bit.
After you get a bit more experience and start PvPing in null/wormhole space, it is generally better to move to a pair of +4 implants that boost your current remap along with some cheap fitting hard-wires. This is the pretty standard "PvP clone" that most people use.
Unless you plan on sitting in station, I would stay away from +5s; the risk/reward is just not worth it. |

I strongly encourage you to invest in a full set of +3s (the best ISK/returns ratio), and do not forget cheap hardwirings.
Look to spend 20m ISK total on hardwirings.
+4s and +5s make getting podkilled very, very expensive. I still have not even trained into them let alone ever fitted them, but then again, I fly low risk and lose ships a lot.

Don't forget Anchoring and Planetary Interaction skills.
Gotta charm those POS modules into staying put.

I swear to the Gods i thought that said breast implants... but yeah anyway.. be very careful with implants, you'll lose them quickly if your doing pvp. maybe only go for the expensive ones if your chosen profession is a bit more sedentary. like mining or industrial.
