Awwww
Given that you've given no background to your question, just a rather bland X vs Y, everyone is going to tell you the same thing: It's situational. There is no 'best'. A spoon is no good when you need a knife.
If you're in GD asking for advice about PvPing in a Golem, you're going to end up someone's juicy killmail anyway. Check the usual places for fits. Fire up EFT and look at which ship suits the situation you want to take it into. Again, if you need to be told this though, don't take either out. Fly Frigates. |

Is that who you really want to be? Firstly, by RNE you mean RNI? (aka the CNR.)
Secondly, some questions to start with: * what is your corp/alliance fleet doctrine in regards to the CNR and Golem? * what is their ship replacement policy? * what does your enemy tend to field? * are you flying small gangs or blobbing? * do you need to support your caps? * are you gate camping or roaming? * high-sec (aka war-decs or suicide ganking?) or low/null sec? * will you have logi support, remote sensor boosting, etc.?
You need to provide more background and less snippery before you can get a meaningful answer.

You need to follow your own advice before giving it to others.
As to your original question: we know nothing about you. Your name is in mixed-case, so there is a clue to some people that you are an attention seeker. If we look at your kills and losses we see that you lost a Drake in Mara (hey! That's where I was born, from a drake in Mara) , and about a year ago you lost a drake in J141017.
So the evidence available to us is that you have zero PvP experience, but are probably skilled to use missile weapons and Caldari missile boats of various sizes.
In this thread we also have evidence that you are unwilling to provide the information that people need to help you, while being quick with the smack. You have no kills, but a handful of losses over the years including the loss of a pod in lowsec.
So the reaction from most people who might have otherwise been able to help you is along these lines: "okay, dude wants to PvP in expensive battleships. Provides no background, has no kills, has lost a pod in lowsec, so obviously this guy needs to gain some cheap PvP experience and learn the basics of controlling nerves, avoiding panic, maintaining composure in a losing battle. We will recommend T1 frigates." The you complain about the free advice, so you get trolled instead.
So here is the more verbose version of the first response you received:
You have no idea how to fly a battleship in PvP. With an expensive ship on the field you are going to be a juicy target. We highly recommend that you earn your PvP chops in ships that you can afford to lose piles of without going broke. Thus it would be in your best interests to start PvPing in frigates until you can cope with your own adrenaline, know how to maintain your composure, learn not to lose pods in lowsec, and score some kills.
I disagree with the advice to fly Rifters. With Caldari skills and missile skills, you should be flying Condors or Kestrels. Once you can score kills in those, move up to Caracal, then Drake, then Raven. Once you can pick the right fights and get some kills in a Raven, you will be able to answer the CNR vs Golem question yourself. For some hints as to how to fly Condors, look to people like Liang Nuren. What fights does Liang pick with a Condor? What fights does Liang win with a Condor? Try those ideas for yourself and see if you learned the right lesson from others' successes and failures.
In the meantime, please heed the words of Sri Sathya Sai Baba: "Before you speak, think. Is it necessary? Is it true? Is it kind? Will it hurt anyone? Will it improve the silence?"

How pathetic must it be to be the sociopath that you are? You obviously have no friends or companions given the way you react to a single comment. Your attitude must create an oppressive aura around you that shuns even the kindest people. Tell me, how DO you live? Is your life so pathetic that you must assert your superiority on an internet forum? Most of us here, given your attitude, have probably lived a far more substantial, contributional, and fulfulling lives than you could ever hope to live. So to quote you - "show a little more respect". |

Normally, I'm not a fan of people telling inexperienced players to "go google it" or give them joke responses, as it drives them away and makes the community look bad.
You, however? With that name? A completely unhelpful post on what exactly you need? Getting majorly upset and instantly going on the offensive, telling people to "Go out and get laid once or twice" and that you "cannot comprehend how pathetic it must feel to be some of you" (lol)?

Rifter. I'd recommend a good T1 frigate but you don't deserve it.
Seriously though, you will die so many times when you start PvP that you need to start small. And frigate fights are in some ways more challenging than larger ship fights. Hooray, I'm l33t! -á(Kil2: "The higher their ship losses...the better they're going to be.") |

I'm no expert in mission running and I generally prefer a smaller ship than a battleship for L4s in any case, but for what it's worth though I would look at a SNI over and above Golem and CNI/CNR. Most dedicated mission runners I know however use different ships for different missions, and don't "put their eggs in one basket" as it were.
So along with the others, I have to say that asking which ship is better isn't really a question that should be asked. The third law of EVE is "fly the right ship for the right circumstance," and since you know the exact circumstance you'll be in on a per mission basis the question you should be asking is "what ship should I fly for this mission?" |

What everyone else said. Your a ****, and don't use either of those ships in PvP ever.
I personally would recommend the Breacher. It is now probably my favourite T1 frig for PvP. And as a missile user like myself you will probably agree once you use it. If you pick your targets right you can kill cruisers solo in it given the right fit. Rockets, AB, web, scram, and as much tank and DPS mods as you can fit on. Orbit at your maximum tackle range and apply full DPS with rockets. Pick targets with very low range or really bad tracking. Any cruiser that uses small blasters (thorax) will get well and truly owned. Also, artillery using cruisers will be killed fairly easily by you so long as you orbit as close as possible. SRY whats an RNE?
I know theres a CNR which is slightly similar to the Golem cos its the same hull
You need to define more on your question
? <--- doesnt help
If you had actually asked the question correctly you wouldnt have fed the cute lil monsters on the forum that are ready and willing to tear any question on the forum apart. . And to react to it *facepalm*
But
Golem is basically left for pve. Yes they have decent (well sort of) DPS but as there a marauder there extremly easy to jam so your dps is more usefull than my wifes farts.
Anyway if your going to need a pvp ship use a basic raven and not a CNR (RNE <--- still trying to figure this out).
Those nice lil angry targets will drop everything they can to get on a CNR kill. |
