Hi, this is me:
http://eveboard.com/pilot/Shizu_Eisenkreuz
I played 3-4 months a couple years ago, using all the free remaps for some reason. I returned a couple months ago with a per/wil remap and one remap available. Right now I can't decide if I should stay with the current attributes or switch to a noob-friendly balanced remap to fill some big holes, wich would be trained at an awful rate with the current remap.
Right now I run L4s (a bit slowly but with zero risks) with a Malestrom and I just started some frig pvp in FW (epic killboard for the lols). My current goals are: - Machariel to optimize L4s and maybe try some incursions - T2 projectile weapons - improve my frigate skills and get into covops, assault frigates and interceptors
So the current remap would be perfect to train new guns and ships. But looking at my skills, there is an awful lot of basic stuff in need of some serious training. Just some examples: electronic upgrades energy grid upgrades shield upgrades hull upgrades mechanics nanite operations and nanite interfacing all the navigation stuff (seriously, I think this is the worst part) science + biology more jumpclones
All of this **** has INT as primary. So basically, between my current goals and the obvious holes, I have stuff to train all over the place, wich made me consider one of those balanced remaps suggested to new players.
So I'm considering a few options: - stick to the current per/wil remap for the essential stuff: all t2 projectile guns to level 4 and minmatar frigates to level 5 (a little more than 2 months) and then switch to a balanced remap to fix the holes and keep training new ships at a non-godawful rate
- stick to per/wil until I can fly all the desired ships and then move to a dedicated INT remap. This would optimize the training but the missing support skills would have to wait a long time. And I'm pretty sure I'll want to train new ships in the INT year.
- remap to balanced attributes right now, so i can train everything at a suboptimal, but not terrible, rate.
What would you do? Thanks |

I just sort of did a 'speed read' on your post. Forgive me if I missed something important.
First off, I would do an EVEMON plan. For about a year. Let that give you an idea of what is optimal.
Remember that you could do a hell of a lot of tank skills to IV and be very effective. And optimal really has the most impact when you have a plan that is 6/7/8 months+ on one hard line training agenda.
If it were me, I would stick to ships n guns, and just 'slip in' a tank skill to IV here and there. Ships to V and guns to V are more important than tank to V imo. Drones train decent with the map you have and you need drones along the way as well. Use implants to fill some gaps. |

If you can wait for the intelligence skills, then stay PER>WIL for now.
If you know exactly what you want to train, and can stick to that plan, using an EVEmon mapping is ideal.
If you can't wait, and have no idea what you will be training, remap to PER=INT or 24p 24i 17m 17w 17c. This works well for a combat focused character. |

i would prefer this one, and add some training for T2 frigate as well you may want to use them in FW (or use faction frigate is very nice too) |

Thanks. Problem with long Evemon plans: I have no idea behind 6-7 months of skills. I don't know what ships I'll want to fly at that point, wich is also dependant on any corp I'd eventually join at some point in the future. That's why I considered a balanced remap.
So I think I'll stay with per/wil for 2-3 extra months (guns, frigates and maybe machariel) and then move to the remap suggested by Tau. |

Is it a bonus remap or a standard one?
Would make all the difference on the advice that I would give. |

Standard yearly remap. What's the difference? |

But since you're on your yearly remap, remapping now would mean you'd be stuck with it for a year, so you'd have to plan for it accordingly.
I feel like I am rambling a bit, but I hope this was somehow informative. |

The annual remap is always used before bonus remaps.
The annual remap starts a one year cooldown timer before it becomes available again. Bonus remaps can be used at any time after the annual, and bonus remaps do not change the annual timer.
Bonus remaps are extremely valuable, as you start with 2, and CCP only gives more on a whim (one was an optional Christmas present 2 years ago).
I personally have 4 bonus remaps, and have remapped once using the annual. |
