So after years of only being able to read on this forum at work due to filters a question arose:
When losing a ship that was not due to a pre planned PvP engagement (by that I mean you knew there was going to be fighting that you might lose a ship in), who do you blame more?
I've found there are the people who blame the other person (F*** blobbers, cloaky f***s, It's an exploit)
Or
There are the people who blame themselves (knew I shouldn't have flown that without a scout, why did I load it so full?, I'm a moron!)
I just wanted to know who does which and where in the game they relate to. I've live in null/low my entire EVE career and it's mostly been biased towards the latter. This however is also likely due to me being with the same people my entire career too.

Depends... My fleetmate lost a ship because I wasn't aligned to a gate because he told me to "hold my cloak". Then winged when he instawarped and lost a ship and I didn't... He blamed me... Not himself...
I told him tough **** for giving bad FC commands...

I dunno. Whenever I'm an FC I view the fleet as if it was a ship. Anything I lose I count against myself etc for not FCing properly etc . |

What is this 'blame' thing you speak of? 
Blame implies, at least, recriminiation. That gets in the way of making myself better at the game.
I analyze why I died in a fire; often it's due to factors I could either not control, or could not anticipate.
Sometimes, it's because of factors I failed to control even though I could have done so - but chose not to for reasons which were considered and discarded as not practical.
Sometimes, it's because I made an error in judgement. Or even a gross error in judgement.
Sometimes, it's just the roll of the dice.
Ganking has made me rather immune to 'Ship-Loss Trauma.' At least, so long as I fly things I can afford to lose.  |

It's ok He answered the question in a roundabout way. He doesn't blame himself but he spurs himself on to not make mistakes again in the future (if they were losses through mistake) |

I'm guessing it was more that the FCs ship was already aligned and instawarped. Whereas seraphs was still under gate cloak (as per orders) so needed align before warping hence the delay in his arriving and thus the death of the FC |
