After training for T3's for over two months straight, you're ready to model. Subsystems over Rigs over Modules - it doesn't get any more complex. Three dimensional chess, and if you mess it up, you'll bleed red isk - a job for Singularity experimentation if ever there was one.
A perfect sandbox laboratory, except your training skills lag behind by 2-3 months (Singularity is only updated, apparently, 4-6 times per year). It's a sinking feeling when you need to queue up 12 days worth of Heavy Missiles V on Sisi which you completed already on Tranquility over 50 days ago. Remember, you only came to Sisi to finalize details - you've done your homework and you're ready to go on the live server.
I'm suggesting that perhaps the Singularity launcher could take a fractional second to make your Sisi skillset concurrent with Tranquility's upon logon. The amount of data pulled across cannot be that great, and the mechanics have to be relatively simple (xml over ODBC?). There are only 59 players on Sisi right now - this added data update is pretty unlikely to tax the system much. And in an effort to contemplate any potential incongruity problems with this idea, I really couldn't come up with anything. Nothing else about the Singularity experience presents any particular problems, but this skills training gap is a pretty major impediment.
Singularity Amhra Rho really, really needs Tranquility Amhra Rho. What do you think? |

Apparently its a huge issue. Why it cannot cross-reference against API keys whenever you log in to sisi I do not know. I don't need a full update on my assets etc I just want my skills copied over. @Caleb Seremshur - We're in perfect agreement. I don't need anything else other than my skills on Singularity, but I need my skills bad. |

Its not really supposed to be used for somewhere you can test fits in safety. Its a bug tester that the Devs kindly let us players use.
Also if you assisted with any of the mass tests you will be granted a load of unallocated SPs to place where you wish.

I fully understand the pains of "I have it trained on TQ, and want to test it on Sisi, but the skills aren't updated".
The reasons why Sisi isn't more closely matched:
Sisi is the test server, where they change the skill database, the item database, and tweak many other background mechanics on how the game functions. The Skills database isn't necessarily directly compatible, especially when they add new skills and change existing ones.
I would like it if they mirrored the skill queue more often, but I don't consider it a priority. |

Also if you assisted with any of the mass tests you will be granted a load of unallocated SPs to place where you wish. But there are rules in place that insure player safety - Sisi is a no-gank zone. And why would we be permitted on Singularity between mass-tests other than for testing and modeling? Otherwise it should be simply closed between periodic mass-test events.
And the SPs one receives for participating in a mass test are an incentive for participating in that test - not an attempt to "catch you up" on your current skill set. If it was intended to simply catch you up on your present skills while on Sisi, firstly, the amount of SP would need to be much larger, and secondly, CCP wouldn't wait 1-2 days after the test to give you those SP points if it were a matter of utility in the test event, as they indicate here.
Lastly, I see no reason why Singularity shouldn't be deployed for just such a purpose, and, in fact, player testing and modeling may be Singularity's greatest utility in the final analysis. This sort of thing does nothing to convey a particular competitive advantage to a player over another - if it did, the the use of tools such as EFT and pyfa would clearly be frowned-upon by CCP. Instead, CCP tends to endorse that sort of player initiative and creativity. |
