Edited by: Galaxion on 28/12/2005 16:11:38 Freelancers had a dominix, eagle and harpy.
Sudden Death Squad had a machariel, a vagabond and an enyo.
The winner: Sudden Death Squad by a wide margin. Their machariel had autocannons, and popped the nosdomi early on. The harpy went down next, and as I type the machariel is slowly killing the eagle. -----------------------------------------

This needs sorting out for the later rounds because the Eve-radio broadcast at the moment is commedy gold rather than sporting commentry.
I'll let you in on a little secret. We, much like everyone else only became aware of the tourny a short while ago. Unlike you, we decided to focus our attentions on the majority of the last 2 days of competition once the initial rounds were done with.
It was only a last minute decision made at the repeated request of players and listeners to do some form of coverage for todays events and we drew from the small number of available DJ's who are about today at the very last minute.
So in other words, give the guy on air a break. He didn't ask for it or particually want to disrupt his regular show. You want to criticise, do it tomorrow when we may deserve it.

Edited by: Galaxion on 28/12/2005 16:30:25 Now we have the Pirate Coalition tempest, muninn and hawk.
ASCN have fielded a sacriledge, a machariel and a rifter. There is also a harpy for ASCN (sub pilot?)
Machariels are getting popular no?
The fight? Both teams are moving the big ships to range, while the support is attacking in the centre. This suggests an artillery setup in the mach Oo. Seems to be a slow battle -----------------------------------------

We were flying an Ishkur (tanked) Muninn (largely damage) and Raven (tanked).
FOE fielded a Claw (autocannon skirmish) Zealot (tanked) and Tempest (tech II shield tank + tech II arty).
Jade called the Tempest as Primary and asked Kin (Ishkur) to go tackle the Zealot and stop it closing with us. They called Tyto in the Munin as primary and focused fire on it.
FOE's gang managed to destroy the Muninn before the Tempest lost its shields totally, but the damage had been done - and the Tempest died in seconds after its shields finally failed.
This left Kin and Jade vs the Claw and Zealot. Jade focused fire on the Zealot and switched to explosive, then kinetic then emp again etc etc but couldn't break the Zealot tank even with Kin's support. The Zealot wasn't making any headway against Jade's Raven either so he switched fire to our Ishkur and killed it after a while.
This left the Claw buzzing around and Jade's Raven vs the Zealot as the main combatents. The Raven's problem was that it just couldn't score more than 80 damage a torp vs the target and its drones had been killed earlier. This gave the Raven a dps of about 60 after resists and just wasn't enough to drop a zealots armour tank.
The fight went on for the full 15 mins and the judges extended the time but the result was never in doubt once Kin had lost the Ishkur. Jade's Raven was being forced to use cap booster charges every now and then to tank the zealot and he was comfortably taking everything in return.
Jade's Raven died finally at about 18mins when the cap charges failed and she went down fighting.
Post match thoughts?
If we had our time again we'd have called the Zealot primary and tried to get it killed before it neutralised our HAC. Not sure if it would have worked though; the enemy strategy was sound and the combination of well tanked zealot plus shield tanked long range tempest worked well for them. Not entirely sure of what they were doing with the Claw, but it survived the fight, so can't have been all bad.
End of the day, the FOE pilots were good respectful combatants with excellent coordination and decent loadouts. The fight went on for a while and certainly didn't seem a walkover from our pilot seats at least.
Funnily enough immediately after the radio commentary we did receive a funny note from:
Mitchello/Tomahawk Bliss of Amaria Auxilia Alliance: "2005.12.28 15:13 the play by play of your fight was pathetic, i knew you sucked by my god you are terrible! *shakes head* when we do war again it will be like beating a crippled child."

The fight was Lotka Volterra and SMASH Alliance but I have no idea what happened.
Looks like SMASH only had two ships to begin with, lost one (a support cruiser) and the battleships gave up.
Lotka Volterra win in a very, very fast fight.
I dropped my radio feed halfway through so thats why I am not sure. -----------------------------------------

Thanks for the complete and full details, this makes it much more interesting to keep up for those of us stuck at work and only have forums to go by.
However, might I ask that when you or anyone else for that matter puts up details of their fight to please refrain from referring to each other with names in the details? This is because i had to read your post numerous times before i understood who was in what ship, as you never specified. You just said you had a ship, then referred to names.
Either way..sweet fights..
Oh, and EVE-Radio..if you're going to be linked to a game, wouldn't it be a bit obvious and self explanatory that you should be involved in the events they hold? I mean, this is an EVE event and you are EVE radio, are you not??
