I know a lot of people have told me to start off with these missions but I have a question.
How many missions are there in the Epic Arc, and what exactly are they for?
Do they prepare me for regular level 2 missions?
Once my standing gets high enough to do level 2 does the epic mission agent automatically give you level 2 epic arc missions?
And once done with the Epic missions what should be next?
Thanks... |

They give a decent amount of money, not sure how many but there are a few... They also help you get the feel of different ships and help teach you a thing or two about flying around. Once they are done you just go on and do whatever it is you feel like doing. |

Sisters of EVE epic arc: - 50 missions (mostly combat, some courier mission) - Quite a lot of money (from new player's perspective) - One of the missions introduces you to warp disruptors (you would normally see these used in few level 3 missions and in most level 4 missions) - It prepares you for level 2 missions
Last but not least: - A lot of traveling between 4 empires |

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Epic_mission_arcs
After you complete the Tutorial and the 5 different Career Agents, the level 1 Sisters Of Eve Epic Arc is recommended, er mentioned in the last text message of each Career Agent upon completion of their mission series.
The level 1 epic arc consists of about 52 missions and will take you through a large portion of high security. It allows you to choose 1 of the 4 main Factions for completion and gives a very good Faction standing increase.
There is no required standing to access the level 1 arc. However, Personal Security Status above -2.00 and all Empire Faction standings above -5.00 is required to travel safely and not be attacked by Empire Navy NPC's.
This is an excellent arc for low experience / new players.
There are no level 2 Epic Arcs.
The level 3 Epic Arcs are for the Pirate Factions - Angel or Guristas. These arcs take you through 0.0 null security systems and are designed to be done in small fast agile ships like Interceptors and Assault Frigates. These arcs have about 20 missions and give a very large Faction standing increase for completion.
These arcs have 3 different starting agents - 2 Empire and 1 Pirate - and require a +3.00 or higher Corporation / Faction standing for access. Due to their location, these arcs are designed for very experienced players.
The Level 4 Epic Arcs are for the main Empire Factions, designed to be done in large ships - Battleships and Tech 3 Cruisers work well. These arcs also consist of about 20 missions and grant a large Faction standing increase upon completion.
Corporation or Faction standing of +5.00 is required for access and are designed for experienced players due to travel required in both high and low security systems.
All Epic Arcs can be completed once every 3 months for Faction standing increase. Most of them give out special rewards upon completion as well.
Hope this answers your questions and welcome to Eve.
