I have a Malediction that I can get quite a long point on. When I put 2 x SB on it with scan resolution script and rigs, I can get close to 3k for insta-lock.
Is it possible to fit a T3 for similar, like a Legion? What's the best cruiser for very fast lock and long point? |

Legion and Loki can both be fit for Instalock duties. But in my opinion, if you're using it to gate camp, just get a Procurer and fit 2 or 3 sensor boosters. I wear my goggles at night.

I am not sure whether it is the BEST, but I use an Arazu with the following:
-3 x Sebo II (scan resolution script) -1 x Medium targeting system subcontroller I -1 x Medium targeting systems stabilizer I -1 x Republic Fleet Warp Disruptor -1 x Dread Guristas Warp Scrambler
With Loki support, and if I recall correctly, I could lock very, very fast even after decloaking at the desired distance, and I think the point range was like 107 Km, which is quite cool.
I've had quite A LOT of fun with that, in small fleets. |

A fleet boosting, cloaky Loki can get 3000 scanres. With bonused webs to lock down the prey from heading back to gate. Also, 720mm alpha on top of it to start off the kill while at it. |

If you're fleeted with others use Remote Sensor Boosters with scan res script. That way you can have more tank and gank on your ship for actually killing off whatever you tackle. |

The main difference between an intie and a T3 is tank and cost. T3s will tank much more, and cost about 500m at minimum to fit up. |

The loki brings multirole into your gang: GÇó fast lock GÇó skirmish links GÇó webs GÇó alpha to hurt frigates before they burn back to gate GÇó covops cloak to adjust into cov gangs and fight picking
Would be my pick for a lot of small roams. Can be flown cheesy: point and web far, never get in risk. Provide boosts from afar. Provide surprise boosts after decloaking. Plenty of utility, low tank though.
For all purposes in ganks it's a rapier, fast point and booster in 1 pilot. The rapier bit in steroids, because you land webs on target with over 3k scanres which is awesome on gates. |

Just as a side note regarding this discussion:
A while back me and my corpmates were researching this and we found that anything over about 1800 sig resolution was pretty well pointless because anything above that got lost through game lag/latency/human response issues. Now, since we are on the subject, would you say that still is the case or have other found that sig resolutions in the 2000s are worthwhile to persue? |

Loki boosted remote sebo huginn can pretty much lock down anything that isn't a nano daredevil or lame cloaky. |

The smaller your target, the more important high scanres becomes (obviously). A couple frequent situations where you really love it on the loki (using it now as an example because I really love it): GÇó An interceptor target tries to reapproach gate. Webs and alpha with 3000 scanres land instantly. Big difference between 2k and 3k relatively, success rate of kill is much better. GÇó A pod or shuttle lands a 200m off warp to zero on your gate. Difference between 3k and 2k often means a headshot kill. This happens quite frequently. GÇó Your fast tackler gets a decloak on an aligning cloaky. Every microsecond counts towards landing point before warp. GÇó You kill someone and want to tackle the pod before warp. The difference is really meaningful.
In situations where you use a fast lock tackler you should aim for high scanres. If you can only bring one tackler, bring a balanced ceptor rather than a full restard. |

I can't remember the exact term but there is basically a one second server tick. So sometimes the point will land outside of the server tick, wait for the next and you'll miss your target even when your convinced you had it. |

Doesn't the Proteus have a point enhancing sub? |

Yes. Frankly I haven't seen a Proteus that uses the sub for anything except scram range extension. The reason I think is the low native scanres and arazu doing the long point thing. Now that rails get a buff I had eft a Proteus that utilizes long point to kite while dealing good dps; might be onto something.
