i think it would be nice if, for every level of agent, the missions would be classed in 3 different category, easy, average and hard, and the player could choose between them
so, players who want easy but less rewarding missions could choose the easy ones, players wanting a better challenge but still doable missions could choose the average ones and people wanting a real challenge or with a kind of suicidal tendency could choose the hard ones
this way, everyone would be happy ┌-------------------------------------------------┐ ª You currently have 34,287,435 Brain Cells ª └-------------------------------------------------┘ |

yeah someone else had a good idea to add more lvls to agent missions so the jump between the lvls wasn't so steep and there was less variance in difficulty between missions from same lvl agent.

yeah, but adding more level with agents would require more efforts than simply separating the missions for each level in 3 categories and then letting the player choose which they want to do
so, for the same agent, if you are short on time one day, you could select an easy mission, but later, once you have a few hours available, you could select an average mission and if another time, you have friends that want to come along, you could select an hard mission, all from the same agent ┌-------------------------------------------------┐ ª You currently have 34,287,435 Brain Cells ª └-------------------------------------------------┘ |

This is a good idea. If implemented it would most likely also have an added bonus of giving the player the option to choose a mission that takes a short or long time to finish.
I've many times thought 'One more missions before going to sleep' only to find out that the one more mission is an Angel Extravanganza or similar time consuming beast.

Good idea as far as time constraints are concerned, but, not with the lp's for the current missions, as it stands, its alot better lp wise to do lots of little missions than just one big mission, with the exception of a couple of the big missions like rogue drone harrasment which is max lp but can be done in less than 30mins.
Taking the mission named above , would that be classed as a little (easy) mission based on the time it takes to complete it or based on its LP? hmmmmmm
There is prolly a few other missions like this aswell that would be hard to place correctly into an easy/med/hard catorgory.

this was one of the suggestion handed to the devs during the last fanfest.
basically: bring back the timer for the agents, every agent gets an easy mission available every 20 minutes, medium mission every 40 minutes and hard mission every hour (or something)
This way you "can" just muck about with the easy missions, but you "should" have to pick one of the other difficulty classes after you finished one because the agent "should" not have another mission like that ready (unless perhaps you took your time and collected all cans and stuff like that).
now... the easy missions are quick and easy (duh)... but offer low isk and lp awards. medium are ...exacly that and hard ones offer lots of isk and lots of lps.
but being able to select from a few missions is the key word here... make note though that once offered missions stay till you complete them or refuse them.
ps. i like the new series missions :) . Ravenal - Fate is what you make of it.

Why would you want to move from a level 3 to a level 4 agent but then have the option to take an easy mission for less reward? you can do that by staying with the level 3 agent.
Only reason to move up the agent ladder is for more isk and lp, and better rewards and offers.

I like the idea, really.
Have the agent table up 3 missions you could compare side by side and choose the one that fits within your skill or time range.
So you would see the mission title, LP and normal reward (not the bonus), location of primary (and secondary) waypoints, and time limit. You can select show info for more details of course. You can then choose the mission that best falls within your ability to complete.
OR... There should be a selection when missions are offered, other than refusing, just accepting 'too difficult'. That mission will be put on the back burner for a few days or a week. Or 'too long' and that mission will be put back for 24 hours. And then the: 'Too jokingly easy' - mission removed entirely from your que.
You can also ask the agent to reset your missions que and all of those ones you've filtered will return as normal after 24 hours.

Edited by: Jenny Spitfire on 30/12/2005 18:53:39 1. Better mission description. Should say whether is it deadspace or not, and at least give a hint that there can be aggro bug, pure-ly aggro-based, etc.
2. Also make levels and ISKs as an idea on how hard the missions are. The perception on difficulty based on levels and ISKs are seriously broken in RMR.
Still think missions are good, probably need a patched after release. Buggy missions, new ones are. ----------------
