Edited by: Saul Thrace on 29/12/2005 16:29:08 Hi, my char has 500K sp, in game for 25 days. I've been running 16 or so missions with an agent lvl1 now at effective quality 23, standing 2.53.
What bothers me is that while the first 5 missions where all unique, it's become clear now that the agent has only 5 missions he recycles over and over again (same objectives, different location), and that storyline missions appear every X missions.
With my destroyer and 5 280mm howitzers they are all not only repetitive, but also extremely easy.
My question is, do agents only have 5 or so type of mission and that's it, and am I stuck destroying the same bloody drone colony over and over again until I finally get a recommendation for an agent level 2? I tried other agents (of a lower quality), and the missions were the same there, too.

u dont have to wait for a recommendation for a lvl2 agent - check the corp info for the corp u r using and u'll probbaly find u have a high enough standing already for lvl2s.

Although, with the recent increase in lv2 mission difficulity, you are going to have fun going back to grind lv1 agents to pay for the destroyer you lost on your first lv2
But dosnt hurt to try thought, or, maybe it does hurt, but who knows.

Thank you for your comments, mmm looks like I don't have access to lvl2 agents yet anyway. I'm just concerned by the 'repetive' aspect of it all... Am I missing something? -- Saul Thrace |

Imho, missions will stay quite repetitive after a having done the same Agent for a while. It's great to get some starting income and equipment, but if grinding missions isnt your style, I would use it only for that untill you have some skills/connections/etc. to do some more exciting stuff. Like mining .

Pvp or mining (trade 'n such).
Or you could just try different setups, different ships, and so on.
Evt. you can try another corporation, or another faction (without social skills, you might have a problem getting a decent agent though)

Yes, you are missing something. With that standing you should be able to use high quality level two agents.
Provided that standing is towards the corp and not the agent of course.
If you have done succesfully the 8 missions for the starter agent you should have a standing of 1.0 (at least) towards your faction. That would enable you to use any level 2 quality -20 or -19 agent.

I do not think that's correct. My standing is 1.1 for the faction (minmatar), corp standing is 0.59 and agent standing is 2.47. I've looked through the corp agent list and not a single lvl2 is avail to me.
As for the kill missions, I've tried changing agent, and she actually gave me the same mission twice in a row (and that's one I had already done twice ). That's a real shame because I was looking forward to some nice NPC missions to do. -- Saul Thrace |
