I have read up and got a general idea about cyno's, who uses them, who can light them, etc...
However I did some searching about Covert Cyno's and couldn't find the info anywhere.
My question is: Can people that use cyno fields to jump use the covert cyno field? Conversely can the Black Ops ships use regular cyno fields?
Example: I have a JF and want to jump into a system that is lit by a fleetmate's ship using Covert Cyno Field Gen. Can I use it or only Black Ops ships use it? |

Covert T3s Covert Ops Recons Transports Black Ops BSs
can all jump to a lighted covert cyno
another interesting fact, a black ops bs can open its portal in high sec. |

BLOPS can Jump or Bridge to Covert or Normal Cynos and Cyno Gens. Everything else with a Jump Drive/Bridge can only use Normal Cynos and Cyno Gens.
Light a proper station cyno with your own alt for your JF. Always*.

Nope.

The only ships that can *jump* to a covert cyno are Black Ops battleships.
black ops battleships can, however, open a jump portal that ships with a covert ops cloak (or, rather, capable of FITTING a covert ops cloak, they don't need to fit it to use it) can use to jump through to the destination.
It is possible to OPEN the portal in High Sec, you can't have the exit area in high sec.
The covert cyno bypasses cynojammed systems.
Black Ops ships can also jump to a normal cyno and they can open a bridge through to a normal cyno but the above restrictions still apply.
To answer the OP - your jump freighter cannot. |

I still learn things about EvE all the time. That's awesome. Didn't know you could use them in Highsec. Never thought to try...

the black ops cannot use a covert cloack, but CAN bridge / jump to a covert cyno
it is not required to have a covert cloack fitted, just having a ship that CAN fit it, excption for the black ops (meaning t3s need the correct sub)
to jump to a covert cyno, requires a black ops to open a bridge first, only black ops can jump to it by themselve
and last thing, black ops can bridge / jump to both covert and regular cynos |

A question about cyno's what?
P.S. To pluralize a word merely add an s (or ies in some cases). Apostrophes are used to show possession or contraction. This new trend of people misusing the apostrophe is driving me batty! Stop it!
Thank you. I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused. |

But only sometimes, and he usually loses a ship doing it. EDIT: Oh and i don't think he know about covert ones yet. One that doesn't give him a direct warp in on his overview?!?!?! BLASPHEMY! Another thing I'm wondering about is bridging. From the comments, I'm under the impression that a Black Ops ship can bridge to the Covert Cyno and then ships with jump drives could then use that bridge to jump into the covert cyno? I need to do some more research though.
Although I do remember the story of a null sec alliance war where a Titan pilot accidentally hit "Jump" instead of "Bridge". Oh to hear the comms...
@ Anabella Rella: I did that specifically to annoy you don't you know... (Actually I was posting on my phone and I think my phone autocorrected it to "cyno's"... lol) |

No. Bridging allows ships with no jump drive to travel.

a bridge will be opened to a cyno, THEN ships can go through and land on the cyno.
bridging ship is the entry, cyno is the exit (see this as a gate).
now two kind of bridges:
1- the titan, can use regular cyno only, but can make ANY ship jump through
2- the black ops, can use BOTH cyno, bat can only make covert capable ship go through (those are listed earlier)
capital ships can jump themselves to regular cyno, since they have jump drives
black ops can jump himself to both because of its specialized jump drive |
