Hey all,
Does anyone know how to get the Reactive Armour Hardener up to 60% resists across the range?
Is there a certain skill to train up or ???
Also, which is better, Energized Adaptive Nano Plating II or the Membrane version?
Just so you know, my armour tanking skills are currently at the standard Certificate level.
Thanks in advance.

The Reactive Armor Hardener will shift all the way to 60% when your ship is hit by only a single damage type. Then the initially four 15% on each resistance type will shift to the single, incoming type and add together making it 60%.
There is also no Energized Adaptive Nano Plating II. It is either Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II (4*20%) or Adaptive Nano Plating II (4*15.4%). The energized one is stronger, but requires more CPU. Your skills affect both modules in the same way and so the difference between the two is also always the same. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

The reactive hardener gives only gives a total of 60% resist bonus, divided among the 4 damage types, so it starts off at 15% per resist and then shifts that depending on incoming damage. It also stack with the damage control so it will appear that the bonus total doesn't add up to the full 60%.
What situation do you have in mind, how are you using it? That man is the noblest creature may be inferred from the fact that no other creature has contested his claim. |

The RAH changes resists according to the damage type you are hit with. There is no way to get 60% for all 4 damage types at the same time (the 60% is split among them). The only skill associated with it is Armor Resistance Phasing, which makes the module cycle faster (thus adjusting to the damage type you are hit with better), but also use more capacitor.
An ANP II is worse than a EANM II in resist stats, but uses no cpu to fit. It is very handy for situations when you cannot spare the extra cpu to fit a membrane.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I'm using Adaptive Nano plating II x2 in the lows of my hyperion.
It's for general mission running at lvl 4.
I'll have a look later if I have enough CPU to put EANM II on the hyperion instead of ANP II's
I don't suppose you guys know which Armor gives a 23% to all damage types?
Thanks again. Only 40 rounds per gun... I hate reloading in the middle!

The higher meta (T2, faction, deadspace) will give more, but also cost more ISK. Navy eanm gives a base of 22.5%, and dont forget that all of these are affected by your [damage type] compensation skill. |

Hi guys,
I already had the Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane on my Hyperion and my skills have increased the damage resistance to 23%.
Thanks for your help in explaining the Reactive armour hardener, I'll have to give it a go and see how it fairs on the Hyperion.
Until next time, fly safe.

My fit consists of the below.
Highs: 6x 425mm Prototype gauss cannon, 1x tractor beam (for pulling the large wrecks)
Mids: Sensor booster II with Targeting script, 4x Cap Recharger II
Lows: Reactive Armor Hardener, 2x Large Armour Repairer II, 2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II, 2x Magnetic Stabilizer II
Drones: Mission Specific
Using Iridium Charge L (Standard) I can target and hit at over 100km.
I'm still working on the fitting to improve my armour resists, and I'm thinking that having Mission Specific resists will give me much better tanking ability.
My average DPS in Missions is roughly 800hp.

Make sure you are making good use of the drone bay on the Hyperion. You are able to carry and use 5 Heavy/Sentry, 5 Medium and 5 Light drones. Just don't use the Amarr drones, the damage output is better on the Gallente ones even against EM weak enemies like Sansha, Blood Raiders etc. You haven't specified what kind of drone skills you have but make sure to get T2 drones if you don't have them already. And try to use close range ammo for your guns and control the range a bit with your prop mod for better dps.
A lot of mission areas requires you to move to a gate or something else, so fit a prop mod. Don't be afraid to get a faction one like for example the Republic Fleet version of the afterburner which uses less cap and lets you move faster than the T2 version.
Replace the EANM's with mission specific hardeners like you've thought about. Gives you better tank against what you will be facing, and you should be able to fit 3 damage mods. So one LAR, two mission specific hardeners and the RAH. Remember that the more dps you have the faster things die and reduces the amount of damage you need to tank. |

The strenght of RAH is in that it does not stack penalize with normal armor hardeners. Thus, a RAH+hardener and RAH+2xHardener are excellent pve choices. The downside is that RAH burns a ton of cap.
My standard armor tank for L4 would be RAH+hardener+LAR. This would work wonders with the above Hyperion fits, allowing 4 damage mods and midslots full of tracking mods etc. CCC's should be enough for capacitor reinforcement; though you could do without and fit a Burst Aerator II. Actually, an armor gank Hyperion looks quite good. I never thought of fitting it otherwise than shieldgank during the last couple years :) |

An update to my Hyperion fit.
I swapped out the EANM II's for tech 2 mission specific hardeners and I am almost unstoppable.
I'm using the following ammo, which is all standard versions.
Antimatter Charge L Iridium Charge L Iron Charge L.
I've been using tech 2 hobgoblins and tech 1 wardens, the hobs for those annoying little flies (frigs), and the wardens to help my main guns destroy the Battleships.
I really LIKE the fact that the antimatter ammo tears through Caldari ships like tissue paper, muahahaha.
