WB! Looks like a cookie cutter ganker to me. There are 2 basic tactics to tank the gank. My personal preference in HS is to undercut the tank. Fly a retriever that is so cheap you can have 3 of them lined up in your hanger. It costs the ganker about as much time and isk to gank it as he earns. Sorry, i dont have specific data.
There other approach is to sacrifice some yield in order to acheive sustainable tank. There are alot of good builds out there. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=216981&find=unread .
If you want to be super safe, the skiff is by far the best choice.

ive went with the option to sacrifice yield for survivability and drastically increased my tank with passive/active hardeners .. and since I fly with a couple friends... 2 hulks, 1 orca... we run rep drones on each other as well... its working.. so far.. had a couple jump in.. apparently scan us then jump out

They frown on miners that harvest the whole belt or take too much from the belt at one time. However they have told me that they will gank me to teach me a lession that I should not take too much from the belt. ??? |

A T2 fit Catalyst used for suicide ganking is nothing new. I'm not sure why there are T2 drones on there though as there wouldn't time for drones to attack during a suicide gank.
You don't say what you are flying but if you were in a Hulk or Mackinaw with a 'proper' tank fitted a single T2 Catalyst would not succeed in taking you down. For some suicide gankers currently the ISK cost to them is of no concern and up to seven T1 fit Catalysts are being used to take down one mining vessel. You're best weapon is good location/s and good local intelligence with your eyes kept peeled. |

it's amazing that people would rather earn less isk/hour than move a few jumps over. |

What makes you think that miner euthanists do not hunt from system to system?

Confirming that a "bunch of cloaky friends" would want to hang around in T2/T3 ships watching you mine for hours on end waiting for a possible gank.
Actually I did see a guy do this in a thrasher. He was supposed to be providing security for the "mining op." Then I saw a catalyst slowboat to a Retriever, lock, kill and pod said pilot. The Thrasher pilot started firing just before the retty's pod exploded. I ask him what happened: he was watching YouTube.
Your friends don't want to watch you mine any more than you want to watch you mine. I have 5 different chars that I play. This may be my main, or maybe not. I have no idea. |

Yes, I too would love to sit in a belt all day just in case something may or may not happen. I'd probably get back from watching **** and still be cloaked around a mass of smoking miner hulls. Oh well, such is life. |
