During this recent Caldari Ice Interdiction I noticed some oddities with Concord's behavior. Mainly that after a large hit, within a minute all of the Concord ships would immediately recall to another location. After some quick checking I found out that this location was whichever random station the goons had warped to in their pods.
They would proceed to immediately mass undock in their free noobships thusly removing Concord from their gank site.
So I got thinking, you are now allowed to get into a new ship (any ship you want) and undock from the station, therein giving yourself another 15-20 sec (or however long Concord's already deployed response time is for your system) to perform even more criminal activities. Though you have restrictions in that you still can't warp, and you can't re-dock, but you can engage new/previous targets. And if your target is on the undock for a station it essentially lets you hit them until you run out of ships?
Now I could be wrong but I had thought that some time ago, you didn't used to be allowed (as a criminal) to board a ship in space and you weren't even allowed to board a ship let along undock in a ship while flagged as a global criminal. But that might have also been the days when you could warp away and avoid Concord.
I just got finished testing/confirming all this on SiSi so is this intended or just a loophole that will be corrected? Though I haven't quite taken the time to test getting into a ship in space on a different grid than Concord for the reaction time there. Curious so I know what I need to do/not do to get those extra 7 seconds of glory. |

You've always been able to reship in station even while GCC. Undocking just means your new ship will also face CONCORD wrath. If the gank target happens to be on the undock when they do that, that's their own fault. I'm Denzel Washington, and I play chess. |

It's called 'pulling CONCORD' and is a legitimate tactic. CONCORD spawns however do not follow the pods, the goons first undock in noob ships, and lose them to CONCORD (because there is a ship in space with a Global Criminal Countdown) freeing the area for the next wave of Catalysts so they can get off a second or third volley.
Having a better grasp of game mechanics than you 'isn't unusual play', you just don't know what you're talking about. |

What they are doing as Xolve said is pulling concord... completely legit, no loophole to be closed here.
Rather than bemoaning this, how about coming up with your own counter tactics, for example you and some fellow miners create a suicide alt yourself and have a -10 ffa in the ice belt to pull concord back into the belt after they have 'prepped' concord and thats just one idea, i'm sure with a small amount of though you could come up with even more creative ways to screw with them... Whenever concord warps off you know whats inbound, warp in your toons from an off grid tac, open fire before they land, instant karma... I used to have a forum sig, but CCP SocksFour stole it.... |

One point to make, if you fire your weapons, you gain a certain flag that prevents you from docking for 1 minute. So the logic that if your target is on the undock, you can keep undocking to shoot them as long as you have shops is not correct. You'll either have to warp your pod off between losing ships or wait for a minute exposed and flagged as killable to all. Unless your target is afk or you have multiple targets that don't run, having ships in station does not work quite as well as the op seems to worry about. |

I know the purpose of it, I pull Concord away all the time, but not by using this method, but since this method does not incur any additional security hit then I guess its a much better way (though I'm curious if it works from a maintenance bay at a POS). Which is why I asked, to see if it was a loophole that was meant to be closed or if it was in fact intended as a part of the gameplay.
Also, you can dock at the same station, just warp out and back real quick and your minute is over... who said you had to sit there for the entire minute?
Why does everyone always assume that if someone is asking about Concord and ganking tactics and if they are intended that they are always a carebear? I just wanted to do my due diligence at some good ole CYA...
So since this is apparently allowed (not that a dev would actually ever dare respond to any questions), I will def have to start using it and save my sec status a little bit. |
