The following fit will possibly be the craziest functional pve fit you have seen. It is a min-maxed microjump low SP Dominix. The quick training with +3 implants and PER-MEM attributes takes approx. 4 months.
Required skills:
GÇó Drone interfacing V GÇó Drone sharpshooting V GÇó Sentry drone interfacing V GÇó EWAR drone interfacing IV GÇó Scout drone interfacing V GÇó Gallente battleship V GÇó Weapon upgrades IV
GÇó Long range targeting IV GÇó Armor core skills at III GÇó Capacitor core skills at IV GÇó Electronics V GÇó Drones rigging IV GÇó Micro jump drive skill at I
This skillset is pretty much the bare minimum and simultaneously all required to fly the fit to its full power. I have ran all L4 missions with this against pirate factions, and it waltzes through them hardly ever dipping to armor. The secret is MJD combined with glitched sniper power: rats won't ever reach near enough to hit you. Worlds collide is cleared in one tick of ~20M.
Dominix, batshit
GÇó 3x Drone link augmentor II (control range 129km). GÇó small tractor beam
GÇó 3x FN omnidirectional tracking link GÇó MJD GÇó Sensor booster II (targeting range 140km)
GÇó 5x Drone damage amplifier II (the fifth adds 20dps to garde) GÇó Large ancillary armor repairer GÇó Damage control II
GÇó 3x Large drone scope chip I (this is the funny bit here, as stacking is borked and drone optimal scoots)
Stats: Garde II 820dps at 122+12km (your lock and drone control range with long range targeting IV) Bouncer II 717dps at 240km (well outside your lock range) Microjump immune to rat scram Tank enough for any regular L4 by range tanking; Mordus Headhunters, Dread pirate Scarlet and Gone Berserk are the worst ones due to missile rats which won't auto aggro your sentries like any other missions. Still, not even hairy. Lower sp might want to fit an extra kinetic hardener for these though, drooping garde dps to 800.
This is the most fun PVE fit I've flown just due to the crazy low SP gank machine part. It ticks easily at 25M/20min when nullsec ratting thermal weak rats. |

Seems like it's a valid alternative to the "rush into Lv 4's within your first 3 months" CM-cavalry. CM-boats are trained a little faster, but comparable stats on a CM-boat takes a while longer I think.
Anyway, thanks for sharing! |

he has a few lv5 skills that really shouldn't be needed to get started (sentry drones, drone interfacing, gal bs), at lv4 you will still be doing ~600 dps (faction gardes). I'd probably do sentry drones 5, then interfacing 5, and bs5 last. wonder how long the plan would be taking those out, get started in what a month?
also I'd probably use a deadspace medium rep (set and forget!) or just a plain t2 rep instead of an AAR. You can trust me, I have a monocole |

WC doesnt have 20m worth of ships if you only do 1 side. i think close to 10-14m |

The AAR is there for two purposes: emergency (if something goes wrong) and repping up the buffer. I haven't used it yet. CPU is really tight so a C-type small could work for the purpose of sustained rep and save fitting.
The itchy situations happen when you miscount the microjump timer. The MJD is used to reach gates triangularly, and to do that effectively you have to save approx. 5 battleship rats or similiar to shoot from the outgoing gate. Here if you leave too little and proceed to next room you can end up with a couple minutes MJD timer in a bunch of rats. On low sp that could be hairy with low buffer. |

Point of the OP is that there is no reason to train anything but those skills for the first few months of you using such a ship. Ofcourse you can start with level 3-4 skills, but getting them to V should be a priority and done in this order:
Sentry Drone Interfacing V > Gallente Battleship V > Drone Interfacing V ______

Theorycrafting and reinventing the wheel is two completely different things...
Sentry Gila, navy vexor, ishtar, dominix and rattlesnake has been tested with every possible fit, and every time it's been proven the dominix is the all-over the best sentry boat.
Once this post leaves the front page of the Missions & Complexes forum, someone will start a new thread about the new awesome dominix sentry fit they just discovered.
This is not theorycrafting, there is nothing here that people didn't know when the battleship re-balance dev post was published months ago. I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous. |

Yep not theorycrafting here, though thanks for the compliment .)
However the stacking glitch of the rigs with omnidirectionals do make way for excellent drone-armageddon fits as well, featuring 80km Gardes. No news, but I only figured it out after the OP.
Armageddon: 3 FN omnidir 3 drone scope chip 4 drone damage amplifier couple tank mods etc.
This reaches 80km Gardes, where it shines almost as much as the current Domi (as at the MJD mission/anom ranges you don't need the tracking bonus).
Also, the more interesting case would be Navy Dominix. Dropping the Burst Aerator II with drone scope mods and using Genolutions to pack the 425's with PG and CPU boost could push the Garde optimal high without wasting too many mids for omnidirectionals. So,
Dominix navy issue: Lows full of damage mods Mids full of tracking mods, 1 FN omnidir 2 Drone range rigs + Burst Aerator II 2 Slot shield tank
1437dps flat (no implants) to 50km optimal on both Gardes and 425's with CNAM, with 2 unscripted tracking computers and one FN omnidir tracking boost.
Think I'm onto something. The improved gank potato... |

Aren't you the guy telling new players they need a salvager for relic sites? If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there. |

I might erroneously have told someone to use a salvager in relic sites, because that was actually not the old magnetometric sites worked, the sites that recently became relic sites.
Are you actually trying to argue that because i made a mistake concerning exploration, that you was right about this being theory-crafting?
Please show me what is theory, because to me this is all proven fact. It might be news to you, be the rest of eve have known for months that the dominix is a sentry boat, and the best one in the game.

It's a bug and it still is in 1.1. My domininx runs 111+12km range currently on Gardes with 3 t1 rigs and 3 FN omnis. |

Quite a few gallente frigates have 25mb bandwidth (field 1 sentry) if you want to try it with a cheap hull and small rigs.
IMO it should get fixed soon, because it will be far more overpowered on the ishtar than it is on the dominix.

OTOH the fix to targeting speed rigs took several years.
I kind of like the rigs as they are for Armageddon which becomes a regular Domi for many purposes as a droneboat with them. The biggest gripe I have is I never figured this out for my ratting thanatos before the t2 capital rigs came and price went through the roof.
Ishtar is kind of funny now. Giving the MWD bonus on a Dominix with cruiser sig and speed... The rigs are the least of issue here. Ishtar drone damage bonus is off charts IMHO and needs a nerf, cruiser and battleship should have different main weapon.
If I was to call shots I would make Dominix a pure droneboat with no turret slots but a 75% damage bonus. Then get rid of the tracking bonus completely to make it a bulky shooting battleship. Ishtar would be 25% damage bonus with 50% tracking and 25% range. |

It seems that something isn't quite right about drone optimal in latest EFT (assuming you are correct in OP). Is it just me? |

Might be the Dominix range bonus need in 1.1? Reduced from 50% to 37,5% |
