I guess this is for PVE?
I'd go with 150's or 125's personally.

It depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to use it to do missions, I reccommend artillery. I've used it many times to do low level missions (I'm sill stuck doing lvl 1s becaus I left minmatar space to go into ammatar space) and it rawks. I only have to get to wherever the rats or drones are hiding and start blasting. Most of the time I don't even have to move at all. They just come to me and die.
Here's my set up
High 7x 250mm artillery with depleted uranium 1x standart launcher with sabertooth missiles
Med 1x MN1 AB 1x webber (for the few frigs who will get in close)
Low 1x gyrostabilizer 1x small armor repairer
It gives you a 9km optimal range and enough firepower to take down pretty much anything that you will encounter in a mission.
If you want to do pvp.. stick to a rifter. Destroyers are to fragile to really hold their own in a pvp fight. _____________________________________________________________________________

First off, if you plan to go autocannons dont waste the opportunity for at least a temporary tank... a couple of options exist for this: option a) medium shield extenders option b) 400mm armor plates
I would also prefer 150mm autocannons to 200mm on the thrasher, the damage difference is quite small.
Autocannon setup for pve would basically be like this: 1x rocket launcher, 7x 150mm autocannons AB, 2x medium shield extenders (T2 preferred) whatever fits... gyro II preferred.
for pvp i think maybe something like this if you want autocannons... 7x autocannons (150mm with maybe a mix of 125mm if you have to) mwd, web, scrambler 2 plates.. I think you can fit 2 400mm plates with high fitting skills.
Expensive highperformance artillery setup (requires advanced weapon upgrades 5) 7x 280mm Howitzer II target painter II, 2x X-5 webs 2x Gyro II

My PvE Thrasher setup:
HIGH: (1) Missle Launcher (flameburst) (3) 280mm Howitzer Artillery (Phased Plasma/Proton) (2) 250mm Artillery Cannon (Phased) (1) 125 mm Railgun (Iridium)
MID: AB, (2) Sheild Extenders
LOW: (2) Tracking Enhancers
Target and instapop a lvl 1 rat in under 4 seconds.
Takes out 10 rats in under 25-30 seconds if you have good targeting skills.
Pops LVL2's in 1.5 volleys.

Right on, thanks. Yeah I don't plan on doing PVP in a destroyer. They are just too fragile. Arges - I did what you did. I moved away from minmatar space. I'm going back to finish up the stupid begginer missions so I can have faster access to the higher level agents. Thanks all for the info.
