Edited by: Rising Sin on 20/08/2003 22:17:20 I fully understand the dev's reasoning in the blogs on this for the following reason: Pirating is a profession in the EVE universe that the developers intended for players to be able to choose.
If traders are able to stick all their stuff in secure containers and put them in their cargo, it almost negates the pirating profession. You're not supposed to run head-first into PF-346 with only your cheap indie in danger - it's SUPPOSED to be difficult to deal with pirates in low-sec space.
Either you gotta take the long way around, or you make and use a bookmark, or you bring friends. Pretty simple.

If you check the dev blog, this is something they are planning. containers would not be 'secure' until they are anchored. thus, and indy's guts will still be an indy's guts, no matter now he loads them .

Edited by: Rising Sin on 20/08/2003 22:16:11 Heh, drunkenmaster - I know. It's just so many people are whining about those dev blogs, I thought I'd say why I think those whiners should give it a rest.

I just want risk to both sides. Perhaps you could buy standard containers that can be assembled and anchored that have the same space as a loot container, can be opened/scooped by anyone, but if it is scooped or stuff is taken from it without the owners permission the owner can shoot back without repercussion.
And before people start going on about metaphors and the meaning of "Jettison", remember this is a game, games should be fun and challenging. wheres the challenge in flying up to a can, taking someone elses ore, and flying away, scot free?

sorry that was a bit off topic, but I'm against secure containers as well, for different reasons :)

Well, secure containers are the choice weapon against ore thieves and the dev's changes won't affect that... so... yeah, what was your post about anyway?
