I got an Eagle to wait until my Cerberus is delivered (I ain't paying 160M for one) and came up with the following setup. It's for small gangs, so no tackling but still good defense.
4x 250mm Railguns II 2x named heavy launchers
1x large shield booster II 1x anointed EM ward 1x named invuln field 1x med cap battery II 1x cap recharger
4x power diags II
Suggestions?

Same high slots
1x large shield extender (named) 1x anointed em ward 1x invuln field 1x med shield booster II 1x shield boost amp
2x power diags II 2x mag field stabs II

If it was a mobile gang, you would get laughed at and left behind.
For camping, might as well fit a bunch of sensor boosters and warp scrams.
For moving, you should atleast have an AB

Ok, thanks, fair enough, here's a new sketch then:
Same highs
1x 10MN AB II 1x EM hardener 1x Invuln field 1x Med Shield Booster II 1x Large Extender (named, not enough grid to fit tech 2, will train shield upgrades up for that)
3x power diags II 1x mag field stab II
Anything else? I won't be in the tackling business when flying this, so all I need this ship to do is lock, shoot and maybe tank.

Hi Siri,
My current Eagle fitting:
4x 250 mm Railgun II 2x Arbalest Assault Launcher
1x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburners 1x Gistii A-type Small Shield Booster 1x Photon Scattering Field II 1x Medium Shield Extender II 1x Pwnage Target Painter
2x Magnetic Stabilizer II 1x Tracking Enhancer II 1x Power Diangnostic System II
A bit modified from the fitting I posted here. The Gistii A-type uses very little cap, is easy to fit and provides a boost of 57 shield per 2 sec. Costs a few bob, but is worth it. This is my allround mission-*****ing setup; defends well against all types of damage. Suppose for PvP it would be wise to lose the painter, and fit a webby or a warp disruptor.

Solo and as dmg dealer -tank in small frig squad use Ions med nos assult launch Large extender anointed mwd x5 proto med techII booster, 3mfsII 1 pduII
In HAC gang use 250IIs, drop mwd for abII, drop extender for sens booster 3mfsII 1rcu
In fleet 250IIs 2 rockte launchers 2sns boostII 1 track comp II 1medII shield booster 1 anointed, 3mfsII 1 trak enhII
A lot of fine tuning and balancing always possible as Eagle is very versatile but I like the above. Generic advice: dont drop mfsII for pduII. Best thing about all Caldari ships atm is the ability to tank and gank. Tank and gank > tank and a bit more tank in all (big or small) group situations I can think of.

If you're using 250 rails, the closest you should be to the target is 40+ km. You have other people to lock stuff down... you're job is to rain fire down on hostile frigs from long ways away, and provide more DPS on larger targets.

Blaster eagle ftw and a nasty suprise for anyone suspecting rails. Sounds a lot like what I have used, and tank will last for a while with the nos. I "think" 4 T2 neutrons fit with 4 pdu and named nos, but I do like the ions with magstabs better.

The setup i use is good for support.
4x 250mm Railgun II 2x Arbalest heavy missile launcher
1x Medium shield booster II 1x 10MN Afterburner II 1x Tracking computer II 1x Photon scattering field II 1x Invulverability field II
1x Power diagnostic system II 2x Magnetic field stabilizer II 1x Internal force field array
You could switch out 1 magnetic field stabilizer II for a tracking inhancer II to get a little more range

1x Large Shield Booster II 1x Shield Boost Amplifier 1x Photonic Scattering Field II 2x F-B10 Nominal Capacitor Regenerator
1x Reactor Control Unit II 3x Magnetic Field Stabilizer
At long range, you load up Spike M and rain down hell out to your maximum targeting range. If anything gets close up, the dual nos kick in and you can tank like hell while killing theirs, and still do incredible DPS with antimatter. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

The man is right. The only thing he left out is that you should be using spike ammunition because this makes a BIG difference on how far you can hit. One other thing I tend to do instead is to fit a med named NOS instead of a second launcher as this will serve to potentially destabilize an inty if you get jumped. ugga

Eagle is a ship you can fit to do whatever without killing its potential. I know many think it the runt of the litter but thats because Eve is built on hype.
Small roaming gangs set up (assuming no scram needed).
Hi. 4 Newt II's, 2 rocket II's Mids. Large Shield boost II, Large Shield ext II, EM hardner II, Web (named), 10MN AB II. Lows. 2 Magstabs II, Tracking enhancer II, 1 Reactor control II.
this is not a win all fights set up but covers most gate and station incidents.
Alternative for fleet ops is replace Newts with 250's and web with either Invuln II or another shield extender II(flat shield increase will stand you in greater stead if you happen to be nos'd or called primary than an extra few hundred cap or recharge rate) and AB with a sensor booster.
My opinion is heavy and standard launchers dont contribute enough to damage to justify them, the inty's that will be your thorn dont like rockets hitting them close up so much prefer them. Plus saves on grid.
Only my view.
You want it I got it....erm unless I sold it, then some one else has it!?! :/

If you're in a small gang, odds are your job is to insta-pop anything smaller than a cruiser, so fit tracking comps, and if possible throw t2 precision heavies into those launchers for extra small target spanking, plus that way if you get tackled by a ship that's orbitting too fast for you to hit, your heavies will be a very nasty suprise.

I recently bought an Eagle and tried some L3 missions, and after a lot of refining, I came up with this setup
Hi: 4x Neut Blaster, 2x Assault launcher
Med: 1x 10mn AB, 1x Medium shield booster, 1x tracking comp, 2x medium shield extender
Low: 2x Mag stab, 2x Power Diag
I cannot use too many Tech 2 items, but I can still survive all L3 missions, and wreck 130 dmg with Thorium M charges 7000 optimal (my range drops too low if I try any better ammo) The only problem I had was with the Slave mission part 2. I always have to warp out atleast once. But after I train my EM Shield Compensation to L5, that shouldn't be a problem
Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Read my mid of the 3 set ups above you (2 posts) Only put rockets in cause in fleet precision missles are a no no... (Noob is he who cant read ) Still an Eagle in a fleet is a bad idea anyway if you can fly Mega/Tempy/Apoc/Geddon/Scorp with tech II guns or jammers... IMO anyway and I have tried a few things around...

PVE setup:
4 med neut t2, 2 arby heaviyt launchers 1 med t2 shield booster, two rat spc hardners, ab2, webber 2 pdu2, 2 magstab 2.
Does all lvl 4 missions in a charm
the double range bonus makes you hit at over 10 km with the neuts and even 2.5 mil bs are no prob to take out with their high damage output (rememberyou also have a damage bonus)

Well actually i find the Eagle is one of the most useful ships you can find in pvP Fleet ops. Popping pods at 150km, (as gate camps often dont have tacklers due to warp bubbles). And even when not scrambled, i can pop many pods before they get away. Id like to see a tempest do that as fast and as well as an eagle can.
If you assign a Tempest or Geddon to pick off the ceptors and tacklers, then im afraid but you have a screw loose. Eagle is perfect for the job

Eagle is vulnerable in fleet (easy to kill) and the ultrlong range Spike does not hit the small stuff... other than that you are right.

Survived amazingly well (i jumped alive lol). So it can survive. My only problem is getting things out from under my guns. And ive shot from 150 with t2 guns, and ammo, and ive hit pods pretty well actually. Did it last night in 0.0. so....im not wrong:P

very few good fits in this thread, although the last one was sort of on one kind of right lines.
Everyone mixes sniper and tank and blasters and gang and its all no good.
Tank:
You want to PVP tank an eagle?
Large II, EM II, Invuln II (or second EM II vs. lasers), Large Extender II, Electrochem cap injector. With the two EM's, easily tanks an absolution, and some geddon fits.
Highs is 250 II, assaults (if you can fit nos or heavies, fine, but probably not), lows is 3x PDU II, 1x damage control.
Sniper:
4x 250 II, 2x assault launcher 2x tracking comp II, 3x sensor booster II (never gonna pop a frig unless you have 3 boosters) TRacking enhancer II, 3x mag stab II.
Stop mixing sniper with half-assed tank fits, ffs. You are at 210+km, you should never take return fire.
Beagle:
As Mechcore posted, the only good fit in the thread. Tank is pretty weak compared to a proper tank fit, but at least you can use it, unlike a full allout tank fit, whic can't solo. Suggestions - mix beagle highs with tank-fits mids and lows, and run with a couple of inties, and/or try dual gistii-smalls for sustainability.
Oh, and take the tank-fits mids, apply to cerberus, BCU II, whatever else in lows to fit, heavy launcher IIs, et voila, much more damaging and can pick damage types, cant be easily nossed to death. Needs tackle support, but you are in a shield tank, of course you do! ---:::---

2006.05.30 09:18:35 combat Your Heavy Ion Blaster II perfectly strikes feel the quam <-LV->(Huge Secure Container), wrecking for 605.6 damage.
Thats what i got with my ion II with void - Using MECHcore's setup however replacing one pdu for a mag stab.
I have to say im damn right impressed. The only problem is if your fighting people wc stabbed to the brim, the 20km scrambler doesnt work well lol. But useful for people who like to stick around. . . or are foolish. muhaha.
But in short - Damn good setup there, and i suggest everyone doesnt use it and its deleted from the boards, so i can use it and no one else can :D

For Mobile Fleet 4x 250 2's, 2x Arb Assualt Launcher (em/exp) 1x AB2, 2x Tracking Comp, 2x Sensor Boost 2x Mag Stab, 2x Tracking Enhancer
So far I have rarely even been targeted in fleet combat, least of all by a tackler. The AB gives you a halfway decent chance to escape a Warp Bubble, or to keep range if you've warped in 200km out of a gate and need a bit more time while you snipe down some inty's trying to get ontop of you.
With that setup I get something like 210km opt with spike and ~2-3 second lock time on inty sized ships, everything else is basically an instalock. You will only do 40-100 dmg per shot on people not tanking kin/therm, but thats still enough to snipe out the careless pilot. Even with the tracking reduction of spike, at those ranges it wont be a huge issue.
Just my experiences anyway, I'm sure others have calculations handy to prove me wrong.
I will say the blaster eagle looks intriguing, but with the opt range double bonus, I'd rather snipe with it. And that one poster was right, this thing gets a LOT of pod killmails.

totally agree - eagle is the pod mail king - i often lock faster than ceptors, and do enough damage to pop em before the ceptors get in range of pods. So no need to tackle em.
Damage and range is exactly the same as me roughy too.
Trick with the beagle setup is it does damage at an uncommon range. supprise often is the key. It also tanks supprisingly well.

Ive recently adopted a new setup of 4 250mm II, 3 sensor boosters, 2 orion tracking, 3 mag stab, 1 tracking II (low)
Works nicely, and get over 205km optimal. But lack of tank, so never venture close in it.

K just thought id inform - I just popped a brutix (both myself and him were pvp fitted).
This blaster setup i have to be honest, is fantastic. The brutix didnt even get me to half shield, and my cap was holding steady at 3/4. The brutix btw was t2 fitted, including drones. However didnt have any nos.
However with all due respect needed, MECHcore's setup is by far the best eagle setup i know of.
Too many times ive cruised around with rails, scared ill end up in a bubble and be screwed, (which tbh i would be with this setup too lol) or have an inty take me down because i cant hit anything under 15km. Well, my rails can get dusty now :D

My Eagle setup for fast moving gangs (so good i may well regret posting):
Hi:: 4x Med Electron IIs, 2x Med Dimi Nos Med: Named/Faction 10mn MWD, web or scram, EM shield hardener II, gist large booster, Med Electro Injector. Low: 2x pdu II, 2x mag stab II.
If you hav tacklers then drop the web/scram for an Invul II, what can i say i like high resists Nice little setup, shame tackling/cap injecting/shield tanking AND propultion require medium slots, least we got the lows free for dmg mods..... (joke). This ship setup like this can take on other HACs better suited to inyourface violence and win occasionally, also it has the bonus of being cheap...atm.... (how long that wil last i dont know, 'whats that skippy; a caldari ship or module without a rediculas price tag').
Enjoy

How do you use the Large shield booster, do you activate it the start of the battle when he starts hitting or when your shields get to 50% or lower ? i've never used a large booster on a cruiser cap setup and i'm not to sure how to handle the cap output, how long can u sustain the large booster ?

High : 4x 250mm II 2x Assault II
Med : 2x Sensor Booster II 2x Tracking Computer II 1x Large Shield Extender II (works better than an EM hard)
Low : 3x Mag Stab II 1x Tracking Enh II
Yes, that setup fits, but you need AWU 5 aswell as lvl5 Shield Upgrades (or Shield Upgrade implant) _____________________________

When u dont take that much damage wait untill ur shield reaches 50% before boosting , that way u gain some profit from ur shield regen.
If u take lots of fire i suggest u put ur L T2 booster on immediatly
And when nossing u can run that L T2 booster pretty long

Yup would agree there - Bad ass tank tho thats for sure.
However although it doesnt concern me, ive lost more eagles with my blaster setup than with a sniping setup - Yet its alot more fun, and i get alot more worthwhile kills rather than shuttles, frigs, and pods. Also the loot i get more than enough pays for the risk

Do the 250mm Proto's just gimp the eagle on sniping? Anyone know the range difference? Just wondering while waiting on hybrid skills.

They don't really gimp it. U do lose some damage and a little range, but u can still do decent in it. t2 250mm w/ spike, well there is no comparison really, but u can get some good range w/ iridium or something else.

well if the basalisk is gonna remote boost you i would take: High 4*200mm II 2*Heavy Luancher II - NPC dependant ammo
Meds 1*10MN ABII 2*NPC Specific hardener 1*L extender II 1*target painter
Lo 2* Mag Stab II 2* PDU II
just an idea but it seems realativley sound.

Originally by: Waxau My fitting at the moment for gangs is the following: Average fleet sniping setup to take out the tacklers: 4 2500 II, 2 assault launchers with defenders 1 medium shield booster II, 1 invuln II, 1 large extender II, 1 sensor booster II, 1 tracking comp II RCU (However many you need) and then filled with either damage mods or wcs. depends how risky you like it.
This will pick off frigates, will lock pods before the warp, and can deal some mean damage to all types of ships.
For a small fleet where you need either a tackler or close range mauler, i go for the average beagle setup:
4 Neutron Blasters (named) 2 E50 Nos 1 medium shield booster II, 1 invuln II, 1 large extender II, 1 7.5km scrambler, 1 X5 Webber RCU (However many you need) and then filled with either damage mods or wcs. depends how risky you like it.
This relies on the frigates mainly thinking they can 'take the eagle; if theyre under its guns. However then they just go into the claws of the eagle. Does a good deal of damage, but i wouldnt suggest it against Battleships with NOS. If you have tacklers in your gang, you can always switch out a web/scrambler for an AB
7km scram on there with no ab or mwd man wtf? whats the point of the scram of you cant get ontop of the target..unless you expect them to get that close to you every time... which wont happen most of the time

Firstly - Thats for camping mainly at gates and outside stations. And half the time i have covert ops which can get me ontop of the target. Secondly, will null i have a range of about 17km. So its not a big need to get into range in gangs. However, when i do need to use an AB, i just take out the large shield extender.
The common sense line is that way---->

Originally by: cptn Hans I recently bought an Eagle and tried some L3 missions, and after a lot of refining, I came up with this setup
Enjoy!
Piece of advice, the eagle IMO is wasted if you dont fit mostly tech II, for lvl 3 mission i would not sweat trying to outfit and eagle, just get a ferox and do the same with a cheaper setup, a easier to fit tank if you are a noobling for 25% of the cost. running around in a tech I fitted eagle makes no sense whatsoever

In a phrase? Bye bye capacitor.
With just one nos being used on you, you'll die. Eagle has a great tank IF it has capacitor. Its that simple.
Plus you wont keep up with the dps with a medium shield booster. I suggest you fit 3pdu, and 1 mag stab. Then instead, use a large booster, and switch out the EM hardener for a cap injector / 800.
Then use an EM rig, to bulk up your EM resists.

Then take out a pdu and fit an RCU.
A general tip with forum setups, is that if your ship cannot be setup exactly how shown, adapt it to suit your skills. Take a pdu out. Or if your tank lacks then, take the mag stab out. Test and see.
A cap booster is utterly vital and is more vital than the afterburner.

looks like a nice setup, but wouldnt it be better to use NOS' instead of heavies? i mean the turrets do enough dmg already, plus when u get close, you will need some extra power for the tanking dont you think?

You'll often find you're low on cap anyhow with a shield tank, let alone the cap of an eagle. So you probs wont have any prob. But if needs be, just switch one nos for a neut.

Just use a neut. And a cc would work, but drastically increases cost, plus means you need to lose a Med as you'll be getting rid of an EM rig, and needing a photon hardner.

250mm II Railguns x4 Named Std. Launchers x2
MWD (ad hoc sniper points, getting back to gate, etc) Named Sensor Booster x2 Tracking Enhancer II x2
Mag Stab II x 3 Damage Control II x1
Not quite as effective as it was pre trinity but can still lay down some range, or alternatively beef the tracking and lock time and sling antimatter 40 KMs
