Has this been put forward? If not I propose the idea of a gravity bomb. It would be a large BS size one use deployable item dropped like a jetcan to be detonated remotely. Once activated creates a gravity well of varying strength proportional to the distance from the weapon. As the duration of operation continues the effect exponentially increases. Ships caught would be pulled to the epicenter of the weapon,(or fight to escape its grip if far enough away).During this time the bomb would exert proportional crushing damage the to hull/bulkhead hp ect. The weapon would last for for a set period after which it would implode or -pop like a JC. Its a more active weapon than say a webbifier or warp bubble in that it actually causes direct damage, and not just assists a player in applying damage.

Edited by: Medici on 10/01/2006 14:01:56 I dont see how if its made semi expensive/rare and slow to deploy as it being any different than Titans Dreads ect with their DD weapons? Also as with SB its effects would be non specific,so deploying it in Empire could well get you flagged by CC,keeping its use to low sec. It would be destroyable as would the detonating player who would have to stay within a set distance during its operation.

A non damaging variant would be k-rad. Some blockade runner flies in the middle of a bunch, drops the bomb, gets the hell out, bomb detonates and pulls all ships in a certain radius together around the same point in space.

Edited by: Arouen on 10/01/2006 18:32:25 IMHO, even better idea would be to implement black holes of different size. Such b.holes could collapse randomly creating another one in some distant location (constellation). Such holes, would bring more life to the EVE and wouldn't be controlled by pilots. Of course extreme gravity could cause damage to the nearby ships, leading to death those being too close. Regards
