hey all thinking of training for 1 of the armour logistics, either oneiros or guardian, i would be able to use both to their full potential so basicly its just which 1 is best for incursions.
i fly basilisk and scimitar for shield, want to extend my logi range to armour so i can maybe get more fleets. i know both have different roles, but i seem to see alot more guardians then oneiros, which is the same for basilisk> scimitar.
so basicly all you armour FC's out there which logi is your preference and why? |

I prefer Onerios. Not having active cap chain means they don't catch aggro. They don't need to be in pairs to work. There's the tracking link bonus. 5 bonused med rep drones give around the same rep as a 5th LAR. Unlike in pvp, in incursions rep drones actually get there fast enough to contribute. |

Oneiros still get aggro, cap transfers have nothing special about them.
Also, when you get neuted, and you will, you'll wish you were in a guardian.
There is no best, fly whatever you like the most. |

Constant cap transfer is what attracts aggro. Oneiros get aggro in crappy fleet where overtanked under dmg dps boats' aggro value is lower logi without cap transfer. Neut isn't an issue. |

Constant cap transfer = moar agro than no transfer
.... i cant remember Ever being neuted.... ever! i fly scimi and the biggest problem ive had is been jammed once or twice

Both do fine.
Guardian 4 large reps, transfers, if you have 2 logi 5 extra x-fer for fleet. AB and tracking link/re-sebo in mids, you will be doing ore drops in mining sites.
Oni, cap stable 3 large 1 med or 4 large reps. 2-3 bonused tracking links in mids, gunships just love them.
Best combination is 2x guard and 1x oni, perfect two lv5 guards and oni with 5 links getting x-fered.
If you want easy fleets get guardian they are always in demand, oni will be way better after winter patch (+200pg -1 mid +1 low). |

Nice to see that the oni will be getting a boost. I think ill train for the guardian first and then see after that if oni is needed or the boost makes it better then the guardian.
Just from watching and competing against armor fleets leads me to believe they run vg's a lot faster then shield fleets. Mostly due to lasers applying dps straight away and the ease of switching range with ammo. Anyone else able to comment? |

I've been in a few armour fleets that have consistently contested NCO's and won them against a shield fleet. But the AF needs to be Legion heavy.
OTA's are generally won by Mach/NM shield fleets, unless the AF fleet has a bunch of Vindi's. NMC's are a toss-up.
That said, it often boils down to the FC and fleet members. If they're experienced, they know what to hit and when to gain the most dps applied and hence win the isk.
Contesting sites is actually the only fun part of Incursions. Well, that and watching your wallet rack up in 10m increments every 5 minutes.
I use a Guardian (Logi 5) with 4 T2 reps and a 1600mm plate, T-link & AB which means I'm not too squishy and can run with the Assault fleets as well. I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes to be fleeted, unless the Incursion constellation is stupidly busy. |
