So Mining Forman gives 2% per lvl totaling 10%...
Then Mining Director gives 100% of mining Forman per lvl, So does that mean that Me in a Covetor & my friend in a Covetor are in a gang and say I have both mining forman and mining director at lvl 5 we should get 160% the ore that we would without the skills..?
so after a hour instead of getting 122259m3 worth of ore we would get 195615m3 worth of ore?!

Read the mining director description again. It increases the effect of the Mining foreman Gang Modules 100% per level, not the mining foreman bonus.
The modules only give a base of 2% at level 1, gaining 2% per level to whatever specific bonus they have. |

Also, only the person with the highest bonus counts.

mining foreman will give 10% extra yeild when trained to lvl 5. if you train up mining director and squadron command to lvl 5 then youll get an additional max of 15% if you have the gang assist mining module fitted

it is impossible to fit the miing foreman links on a covetor. you need either a battlecruiser or a command ship (t2 bc), or a carrier of any size.
they require high slot, 5,000 cpu and 200 grid.

Those modules are not ment to help you alone, they help your gang.
the skills are helpfull as soon as you get into a gang, but the modules only kick in when you have a big enough gang.
Remember: the module costs you a high slot, and thats one less mining laser! You can figure out how many mining lasers need to be in your gang before it's helpfull to fit one of these.. (higher skill means its usefull more quickly)
If you use a BC for protection from NPC's, thats a good option..

Does this mean that only a single miner in the gang gets the bonus? ie the one with the highest bonus? |

No, the character with the highest bonus applies to the gang, ie: I have mining foreman 4, playerC has mining foreman 3. only the +8% yield from me applies to all in gang. multiple people with the mining foreman skill doesn't stack the bonus either, so If I have mining foreman 4 and someone else in gang has the same level, it still only gives +8%. |

so if i skill squadron command to lvl 5 and fit the command processer to my bc or command ship can i fit more than 1 of the mining forman modules ie 2 mining foreman link-ice harvesting mods....just wondering as in its description it says
Foreman Links are dedicated mining operation systems designed to assist foremen in coordinating their operations. ""While only one of these units can normally be operated at any given time, certain advanced units allow the use of multiple systems.""
so have i miss read this or is there some other way to fit more than 1 of the same type?
cheers morff

read the last line in gang modules description: "Note: Gang effects don't stack. The strongest effect overrides all others." no point in fitting 2 crystal optimizations on one ship. not sure how it works if you use crystal optimization and drone coordination though, but would guess thye will work both

I think this means that if there are 2 ppl with the same gang assist module active only one counts... so I am still wondering if you can have more Mining Foreman Links of the same type online on ONE ship, with stacked effect of course... the effects dont stack only the one module will contribute to the gangs affect the other will waste a slot/capacitor..

And again, remember, you can only fit a gang module on BC's or Capital ships. So you have to have one member give up a barge for a BC to even get the mod to work.

Edited by: Kery Nysell on 11/02/2006 18:27:34 You can only fit one high-slot gang assist module on Battlecruisers and Field Command Ships.
To fit more than one of those, you need either a Fleet Command Ship (Role Bonus: 99% reduction in Warfare Link module CPU need. Can use 3 Warfare Link modules simultaneously) or a Command Processor I, a midslot module that allows one extra gang assist module to be fitted in highslot.
I guess that on the right ship (or with Command Processors in mids) you could fit multiple gang assist modules, but I don't have the skills for those ships yet ...

mining formean affects mining lasers.
the gang modules, there 1 for drones, 1 for ice harvesters(reduces cycle time) and 1 for mining crystals(so need t2 strip miner or modulated deep core miner)

what is/how much is the bonus from the assist modules? how much is the benefit I mean? seems like something that could be fantastically good in massive scale mining ops but not so much for "normal" ones..
and someone mentioned them only working in a large enough gang? whats needed? (or just not single)
funny image though... people having whined about how "inappropriate" it is for a massive battleship to be mining,
and now theres reason you might want a tech 2 command ship to mine!

2% from the link. 10% with level5 mining director. as for when to use it, linky will give you an idear. though if you are mining with 30-40 people it should really pay off to get someone in a bc with it(note, you need t2 miners with mining crystal for the mining link though. or mining drones or ice miners)
dont need a t2 comand ship for it, jsut a battlecruiser will do. Though I suppose if you really want too, you could use a carrier or titan for it as well ...
