Orca capable of cloaking but is limited to jumping like a black-ops battleship to a industrial cyno.
Cannot fit covert ops cloak but does not have targeting delay and has no penalty to speed or targeting due to cloak mechanics.
Can fit industrial jump bridge which can only bring through ventures, mining barges, and exhumers
Increased ore bay (expected to haul the ore)
Industrial cyno's can only be fitted to ventures.
Industrial cyno's can not supplement covert or regular cyno's for other ships with exception to the rorqual.
Requires cyno 3. |

I have also thought about a ship like this. It would allow high sec miners to make small excursions into low or null. |

Does it keep SMA? If it does you could cyno t2 remote repairs which would change a lot if such orcas could cyno into cynojammed systems.

I love this idea, however the hangar would also have to also be limited to industrial type ships to avoid launching additional covert ops ships for covert cynos. I'd also be in favor of a covert ops T2 venture and covert industrial cyno to support a stealthy entrance. |

I could be in favor of this. Cyno in a mining fleet and cyno out the ores as you fill up said orca and if **** hits the fan get all the assets out. could prove a good challenge to PvPers to see if they could take down such a fleet before they escape. If they where going to do this since its T2 it should be very specialised into this roll.
No Ship Hanger Small Fleet - or no Fleet hanger and a Fleet accessible Ore Bay Mining boosts but not as good as the Orca
That Way the Orca is not superseded for standard HS mining ect. |

Going off of this We should make it to were this t2 orca has a smaller ore hold than the original as well but can also cyno hauling ships as well. Smart efficient folks could have a chain of indi ships hauling ores by t2 orca cynos and I can for once see mining becoming a very fun activity doing this.
The name for this t2 orca should be... The Narwhal "The stone exhibited a profound lack of movement." |

Just make a tech 3 indy which could act as a cloaky nullified retrieve or even jump capable cloakie retriever, gas miner with bonused probes and what not. Make it bonused for mining so it mines much faster then your regular barge, but cant be used (the bonused subsystem) in hisec.
That's just some ideas from the top of my head, I'd totally use my poor ol' indy which is collecting dust for some ninja mining of arkanor or mercoix just for the lols :) |

OK, I'm liking where this thread is going and I have the following things on my mind:
- Tech II
- A "smaller than Orca" Ore Bay in m3
- A SMA that is restricted to Industrial Vessels (Ventures, Mining Barges, Exhumers)
- Maintain a Fleet Hanger but possibly restrict the contents to Industrial only? No Cyno mods allowed.
- Add a "Fuel" bay?
Also this:

Im going to go with a no to the noctis, and one less high slot and can only fit one warfare link. Only one warfare link would further drive the point that this ship will not help the fleet mine as efficiently as with an orca but trades it off for amazing mining fleet movement into areas that would otherwise be difficult to mine in
Also orcas cant use the indi cyno. That way if your going to mine like this you wont get the best of all the worlds here.
One thing i wonder though, should the indi cyno pop on the system wide overview like a regular cyno or should it be hidden to on grid like a covt one? I personally lean to the covt one. "The stone exhibited a profound lack of movement." |

So how is this any different then a rorqual?..
I think in order to make ninja mining a viable option you need to drastically increase the value of mining. Ninja gas mining works in WH space because the time required to get a substantial quantity is limited and the value of the gas is pretty high which offsets the extra risks / costs. The reason why that really isn't an option (besides boosters which is pretty limited because of demand) Is because nothing like WH gas mining exists in known space |

You obviously missed what we were discussing. This ship is hardly like the roq. It does not siege, compress, and barely boosts. What it does is allow the bridging of a mining task force in low and null space and for easy transport of "Raw" minerals.
Like the Roq it gives us the ability to move mass amounts of minerals from point A to point B, but this ship moves other ships much in the way a BLOPS does instead of compressing the minerals to be hauled by a jump freighter later. This opens up a new game style that would allow a corp to organize an ore gathering op wherever they believe they can do it in low or null.
Normal cyno rules apply ofc.
In the end I really like the idea of this ship because it gives us another option other than "get POS, place roq, siege and compress. Wait for jump freighters."
Thinking about it now if normal haulers were allowed to bridge on this ship (freighters not allowed ofc) this could be an amazing ship for the space trucking business. Those wanting to get into the hauling business with a corp could compete with corp like black frog but with lower SP pilots except for the pilot that needs to fly the "Narwhal (tm)" "The stone exhibited a profound lack of movement." |

what i want is a module or set of rigs that would allow an orca to use a black ops bridge. this would allow corps to do raids into lowsec or nullsec for ninja mining. they bridge into a system lock down the gates with gatecamps or bubbles then mine out the belts or anomalies. they then bridge out . the orca would have the ability to repackage ships in its ships hanger so it could haul in and assemble the ships for the operation then repackage and haul out the ships afterwords. the fleet members would still have to fly bridge capable ships to get in and out or have to fight thier way out through the normal gates. |

I reinvented this wheel just now. Like literally just thought of the same idea.
I know bumping elderly threads is generally frowned upon, but ninja mining ftw guys. Tell me again about how every playstyle you dont engage in "doesn't require any effort" and everyone who does it needs to die in a fire. Be sure to mention about how you tried it once but it was too easy/boring/ethnic-homophobic slur.-á |
