A good way to waste money, more like.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Can you blame the guy? This game has come to a hault. There's nothing new to do, everyone has a battleship, and some people don't feel like waiting for months until a patch brings something to the table. I'm considering doing the same.

Am I the only one who finds it a little odd that The Reverend only has 1.6 million skill points

Holy ****, why are people bidding on that piece of crap character? Man, judging by that, i'd make a fortune if I sold mine.
Must... get... bored... of... game...

Im not surprised. 1.6 million is a good number, and there is more to skills in this game than how many points you have...if a newb takes over this character you can expect to see him podded over and over again

I understand that, but I still find it a little unusual that he doesn't have more skills trained and more points. I have the same number, roughly, and I only have 2 months playing time (and have had something training for most of those 2 months).
I suppose I do have the habit of underestimating how much an uber-weapon will make up for having a lack of skill. (This isn't an attack on anyone, just an observation: it seems that peeps prefer using modules to having a skill trained that will give them the same bonus. This is understandable for obvious reasons - it's easier for one thing - but I would still expect PvPers to train their combat skills up to an advanced level, not just have weapons as the difference between them and the next person.)
I'm not a PvPer (yet) so perhaps my take on it is different to others'. But I would be interested in knowing how other peeps interpret The Rev's number of skill points (or hearing from The Rev himself). |

It's not just the amount of skillpoints, it's the complete lack of vital skills and all the crap gear. The only thing that's good is the ship, and it's not worth $295. I mean, "1 x heavy electron blaster", why even advertise it?
I have twice as many engineering and gunnery skills, all lvl 3, the most important at 4 or 5. All those times I've seen The Reverend in local... should have kicked his ass, but thought everyone in m0o were uber.

Edited by: The Reverend on 24/08/2003 22:00:29 Simple, the guys who's selling it for me has only played EVE once or twice, he has no idea whats good and whats not - he has access to the character and was told to take a few items from each hanger and put them up. As for skills, not all the skills have been truely represented, some have been dumbed down in order to keep people guessing at what my true stats are, none are lower than show - some are higher. I'm stupid sometimes, but not stupid enough to portray my real stats for all to see.

I'd be very surprised if Rev has less than 2.8M skillpoints.

It'll be damn funny if someone with no real experience of Eve buys it. They'll lose everything within a week I bet. Still some people have more money than sense - not having a pop at the rev here, I just think buying game items/accounts is stupid.

The farewll post will go up on General tommorow afternoon BST. Might be one or two interesting things in there for the general EVE population to see.

I guessed that it might be something along those lines. Cheers for clearing that up. |

It still doesn't make sense; you're selling the character, why does it matter at all? I suppose because you're using it the last few days?
By the way (not that I'm thinking about buying it) - will the buyer be allowed to stay in m0o or will he get kicked out like last time this happened?

The guy will be allowed to stay in m0o with all privilages removed until he has earned them. Already been discussed and agreed with m0o command, just sorting removing all my director privilages as I type

Then you should ask tsietisin to edit the ebay ad.
I quote:
"You will be given the highest access into the corp. All that you desire is yours."
And btw, Tsietisin has played eve, at least for a month, so that I'd expect him to at least know the good modules from the crappy ones. What you say here is not binding, what is posted in ebay should be, hence there posting crappy modules and here saying that there are far better things. I pity the sucker that buys the account because all he's going to get is a battleship, a crappy 1.6 mil skill points character and a huge KILL_ME_I_AM_A_LOSER sticker on that scorp.

This forum is not to discuss Ebay auctions. In fact, it's against the forum rules to discuss out-of-game auction sites.
