Why was the mines taken out of the game? i thik it woud be rather kewl to be able to set up minefields. yes yes i understand the problem this will casue with gate camps. but you could limit how many can be places with in x distance of a object. could be funz :) |

Train up 10 or so alt accounts, get them into smart-bombing battleships, place them into a field.
Voila, portable and reusable minefield.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

Of course it's fun for the one laying them.
Long time ago in the original DX multiplayer you could go into an empty level and rig the whole place with gas and lam grenades (double whammies), then hide somewhere and wait for the first visitors to enter.
It was fun for the one who laid them but the other way around a horrible game experience.
Glad they're gone. |

Lag mostly. I'd certainly like CCP to put together something similar in the future.
(like a fueled module that self replicates mines until "swept" or runs out of fuel) We're winning the war if it says so on CAOD! -á

Cos we'd all be restrained about laying them honest Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Pay to win how is this please enlighten me on this. As this argument can be used for anything that is added to the game. |

limited number allowed with in a proxcimity of the gate. dont you read my other posts?
limitations on use IE you can have 10 with in 10km of the gate with in 2km of each other i dont know thats why we talking about it.
and again this agument can be brought for anything added to game realy
thousand man blob in new frig ship insa kills things on gate as they jump in thousand man blob in new bs insta killing on game bla bla bla. lets not jsut shoot everything own before its talked about. |

Ok....limited for whom. Say one fleet puts 10 mines on a gate. Now no opposing group can put mines on the gate before those mines are destroyed? Yeah, that's a terrible mechanic.

i love the fact you come into somthing 100% negitive every time. yes 10 mines from ur defending fleet on the gate u jump in u cant place mines. but if the ships that placed mines in on that gate leave system mines go by e bye. so you can then place yours. as mines are ment for defending an area not many people i know would jump into a room during a building assault and go wait a sec i will place a claymore down here they get in get hit by what ever is waiting for them then win the fire fight then set up there defences. |

So, lets apply your own mechanics to bubbles, a similar mechanic (in some respects) already in game. Someone anchors a certain amount of bubbles on a gate, and now opposing parties can't anchor bubbles until they get rid of the originals.
Yeah, I stand by what I said. Terrible Idea. |

Maybe English is not your native language, or perhaps you're just young and still in school. Either way, your posts are nearly illegible.
After extensive transliteration and translation, I have determined that you are discussing "minefields". This leads me to believe that I must have made some serious errors in my work in the aforementioned processes and misunderstood what you posted.
Surely you suggested something more reasonable... like improvements to the mining mechanics in asteroid fields, perhaps? I can't imagine you'd want actual minefields in EVE, as that would just upset the forum warriors!

On a serious note, I wouldn't mind seeing mines back in EVE under the following restrictions:
- Minelayer T2 Destroyer - The only ship that can lay mines.
- Limit 10-15 Mines - 10-15 mines per minelayer.
- No Remote Functionality - You must stay on grid with them for the mines to be active, otherwise they're "abandoned" and self destruct.
- No Blast Radius - Mines do single target damage, and do not explode like bombs. Impact damage only.
- Moving Mines - Mines move towards the enemy ship similar to a drone.
- No Proximity Checks, No AFK Use - Mines must be ordered to attack an enemy ship just like drones, unless they or the minelayer are attacked first.
- Single Use, No Retrieval - Mines cannot be scooped after being deployed by either the minelayer or the enemy fleet.
In effect, this would turn mines into suicide drones. I think it could be a useful addition, and fit well within the server's current capability. Ch+½j+ì Katrina Oniseki ~ (RDC) Chief Operations Officer ~ [I-RED] Sub-Director of Public Relations |
