Enough is enough when you spend 5 minutes bouncing off deliberatly abandoned shuttles outside of hub system stations. Maybe this is a genuine tactic for war, but it should be seriuosly frowned upon in these systems where lag is already a significant issue. Shoudlnt the GM's be removing this lag inducing flotsam..?
Particular station was Caldari Navy 4 in Jita...30 odd shuttles abandoned by PSHA.. Thank goodness I only pop up to Jita now and again for trade rather than live here...

Well, you could do the clearing yourself no? If you have a spare character slot and don't want to risk yourself... create a noob, and fly there in your Ibis, eject, and then proceed to board and self-destruct all the shuttles.
A pain for us, but at least it is something you can do yourself to resolve the situation.
But yes, not acceptable behaviour due to the grief it causes people, especially new players; I don't care about war targets.
Personally think their corp should be given a warning for griefing.

..... or fly to and board it (it now becomes your property) go back to your original ship and use the shuttle as target practice. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ...One mans rubbish is another mans treasure... |

Well, I like to spend as little time in Jita as possible. The thought of spending an hour clearing shuttles away from a station either with my main or an alt is hardly appealing.
Im just sorry for those that have to put up with this sort of reckless and irresponsible behaviour conducted by the few that impacts the many.

shuttles should bounce off a battleship the way a hauler will sometimes bounce off a roid when its warping into a belt
using them as obsticles or to prevent a warp by bumping is kinda exploitative imo
cant the ships be given a mass value ?

Did anyone tell the GMs?
I can recall several times when people have been given slapped wrists by the GMs for leaving multiple cans and/or ships near gates and stations. Someone has to petition it first though.

Yeah... i've seen plenty of shuttles used as blockades at gates in Lonetrek's low-sec areas. Its a lame method to slow down transports etc so the pc rats can get a kill.

This is actually a very good tactic with regards to a protest.

If its all teh same corp doing it, petition. It is an exploit and if the situation looks bad enough a gm should resolve it for you and even reimburse ships lost due to it.
If its differetn corps, he cant do jack because it might just all be clonejumping leftovers. _______________________________________________

Petition it under exploit. Give the system anme, pilot names and corp names of the guys doing it. It's not a genuine tactic, it's a known exploit. A GM will likely come clean it up and anyone doing it will be dealt with if it's nececary.

This sounds similar to the old 'Secure Can' blockades.
Either free the slaves or we will come and get them.

Edited by: Estan Drake on 20/01/2006 02:51:15 It was an accident those shuttles were dropped, by the way
If you have a stack of shuttles and you try jettison anything-- they all go flying out. The member of our corp was temp-banned for it. It was only one person though not some massive conspiracy conducted by us all to LAG Jita =)
Im sure lag in jita is an uncommon thing afterall.... it must be the shuttles

I agree, while were at it, can I get my missiles tipped with those annoying beacons instead of esplosives? the possible fun factor... The Destruction of your ship is usually preceeded by the thought,"I think I will try somthing a little different this time...." |
