Machariel has Speed, a 7th lowslot, makes a nice armor tanker, still has more shield than armor...
Fleet tempest has 6 med slot, has better shield than machariel, is slower, is more expensive, is ugly.
There's not really alot you can do with a fleet tempest that you can't do with a regular tempest, It's still a shield tank, or an armor tank.. See what you can do with an extra mid slot.

Going slightly off topic, a Gist XL shield booster really compliments a Machariel imo, I wouldn't be without it
Using a T2 EM and T2 Invulnerability hardener and the gist provides a long lasting half decent tank, also leaving 2 slots free for whatever, plus damage mods and wotever else you fancy in low
It's an incredible ship.

Whaaaaat? Machariel or Fleet Tempest for PvP? You will be MAIN TARGET in any PvP combat. And you will die very quickly.
Tbh, if you do not have Extremally High PvP Skills(and you do not) backed up with PvP skilled gang forget about PvP in Machariel.
Or may be you will hunt frigates? In this case there is no difference.

Most people who post on the forums dont have PvP experiance ie you Mimi! but then i would tend to agree, dont bother taking a mach into a fleet op it'll get pwned with all its lovely looks

I have a machariel but wish I had a navy fleet tempest. With the RMR changes the fleet tempest is a much better option imho. Then again I always was biased towards mid slot versatility and value that quite highly.

Agreed, using faction ships in war zone(read: when its more then 1-2 poor hostiles), youll be hunted down by everyone. Everyone will want a piece of kill-mail.

If you don't have PvP experiance in Minmatar ships then its a silly idea to spend lots of money on a faction ship.. learn the races tactics first.. then once you are confident you know wtf you are doing with them go get a faction ship.
I don't have any good PvP experiance, so I won't be flying a Navy Apocalypse or a Bhaalgorn into PvP combat.. and nor should you.
