Up until the January patch t2 parts (i.e. tung carbide armor, fusion reactors, sensor clusters, etc etc) all had decent building times. In fact I could build most 10k orders in about 8 days or so with the exception of reactions which have always been insanely long to build.
However, with the Jan update to RMR everything has been increased dramitacily. It is my estimate that build times on ever part but reactors have increase by 100-120% and reactors build times have more than trippled.
As much as I hate the change I could have at least accepted it better under two conditions.
1. That ccp had put it in the patch notes. The GM's say that they just forgot but I find this hard to believe as it was such a huge change to the mechanics of building. At least if they had warned us I could have made plans for the change and been able to meet my quota's. Instead CCP took the cowards way and hid it so as not to get flamed out the ass.
2. That they had given us a reason for the change. At least when stuff gets changed in pvp like weapons systems, ship stats, whatever, we know for what reason they are being changed and how they promote balance. (i.e the mk2 project for stupid ships that were useless) When asked for a reason not only did the GMs say to f.u.c.k off but also said that they dont have to give me a reason other than for "balance".
WTF needed to be balanced in the first place? Last time I checked Eve was getting an ever increasing population. This means that the market for t2 gear only increases over time. By making it harder to build the gear with increased build times not only for the parts but on R.A.M.S(dont have as much a problem since the BPO's were just released) as well it will only drive the price for t2 gear up even further. Its not like t2 gear has drastacily inflated prices already is it???? i.e hacs selling for 160mil. It really cooks my goose that CCP dropped the ball on this one. I just want an answer of what the heck happened in the first place.
I blame all the devs and GMs for drinking too much bear.

Old news, but yes this wasn't in the patch notes.
IMO this is extremely stupid--there was already a huge production bottleneck for T2 components before the patch, and now this just forces yet more tech 2 producers to make loads of alts. The T2 producers making instant-cash items like Deimoses can afford paying premiums for components, but most can't.
I now have to suspend all my production for a full half of a week (and I have top end production skills, can use 9 factories, and all my BPOs are at high PE levels) to supply my corp with components to build Helioses for just two weeks.
This change doesn't help anyone, and hurts everyone. Well, it helps CCP: they get more accounts because of people training up production alts -- Proud member of the [23].

All T2 producers should apolagise for the stupidly high prices on most T2 equipment.

TO ALL A.S.S.HATS POSTING THIS THREAD......
I myself dont have any t2 bpos. I build the parts for tech 2 gear and sell them. So all of you that say I should stop whining because I have the win button STFU.

At least CCP knows that t2 is broker. Check out the post Oveur made int he tech forums that asked for ideas on the new research systems and said he doesnt want post that say t2 is broken because he already knows it is.
Get a clue, I am not whining here. I am merely asking that CCP live up to the name that they have tried to give themselves. It makes no sense to make massive changes without telling players anything.
Secondly, I dont have it any easier than you. I found something I am a good at. If ccp wants to change it first. fine. Just at least warn me.
I suggest everyone that thinks I have it easy to get a clue. I sunk alot of time and sp into what I do, and still do for that matter. If you want to make money in the game find a way to make it work for you.
Its called making an investment.

I think CCP simply doesn't care about the industrial site of their game. The way R.A.M Blueprints were implemented was also very bad.
I could write more, but I am simply too frustrated. I've been with this game since 2003 and I still think it is the best out there, but the way industrial gamemechanics are handled makes me sick nonetheless.

Trolls.
There's a difference between the people that make HAC's and the people that make the components for them. Most of the difference is in price margin. ---

I'm tired of stupid people seeing the word t2 in a thread and shouting "omg you make so much moneh!!111ONE1!"
You address nothing that the OP has spoken about, you simply trolled...why?
The OP raised a valid point. Component production time was inreased by a factor of +-4. This means components are harder to source.
Guess what? This means products are harder to make and you the end user will pay moreif you choose to buy because supply is decreasing but demand isnt.
Consider that next time you choose to engage your typing fingers but leave your brain in neutral.

i think its a nicwe try to get more ppl into the t2 industry, but there could b better attempts imo, like letting the rams and dbd require moon materials and such. - Purple Conquered The World, We the Universe.

Yeah it was a problem, went from needing 24 factory slots a week to 72 a week to make our production quota's for the customers who buy our parts. We really could have used a big warning on that to get logistics ready. CCP dropped the ball on that one.

Maybe by making Tech 2 harder to build they are laying the groundwork for no longer regulating the industry by simply not allowing 99% of the population to even try and build tech 2 stuff through the lottery.
I would be all for it, make tech 2 harder to build but allow more people to try...

To the people complaining about the high prices of T2 stuff. You do realize the simple economics of reducing supply (and increasing the time it takes to make them will do this) also increases prices right? The suppliers may not make as much money per month, but they're certainly making more money per order out of you, the consumer.

I suspect it was, unfortunatly it will not have this effect as T2 producers will just make production alts to supply demand.

Well when you make a tII BPO that originally took 4-5-6 hours to produce a batch and increased it so that only one (1) batch can be produced in 18 hours, then you now why the prices are going up.

Maybe CCP is tring to build a market for the supplies T2 producers need. Kinda like how car corps dont build the radio in your car some other corp does they just install it.

Edited by: Tenacha Khan on 21/01/2006 20:11:41 ya know if this reaches over 30 pages you have bet my rant about how se status auto increase was removed without any warning.
on topic
if the time to produce somingthing has tripples, then the proffit per unit will tripple too, which will increase the price of that component, but not nesecarily the price of the techII product. So it will lower the profit being made by t2 producers as tech2 prces are not based upon profit margin, but upon demand. I think this was a good idea, how the implemented it may look bad to you, but was infact a great way, it stopped people from hording components before the patch and waiting till the demand increased thus making a tidy profit based on oog resources.
I dont see how you can complain over the time change as I think its pretty justifiable. Im sure when you have finished ranting and go back playing, after a few weeks you will see it was all for the best as all changes made by ccp are

One day i hope dumb CCP fanboys such as your self will realize CCP screwd up.
At the very least they could have warned us this was happening.
In the end this is all just a way for them to get more accounts, and make more $, its pretty obvious :(
