I'm curious hows dust compares to Planet Side 2 . I play the latter pretty often how does it differ from dust? Is it worth getting a PS3-PS4 for..? |

Planetside 2 is a PC game, you don't need a Playstation to play it.
And it's lightyears ahead of DUST; the gameplay is much more balanced, and the maps are simply huge.
I had very hi hopes for DUST; it has an economy, and was tied to EVE.
The way CCP is handling it now.....meh.
I doubt DUST will be around (or will advance significantly) in the next 12 months. CCP has basically dropped the ball, and for whatever reason (is Icelandic culture really this screwed up?) refuse to admit they have a problem and instead plow blindly on.
I hope DUST gets better, but given CCP's track record, I doubt it. |

Eve has consistently got better over the years, so ccp has an excellent track record, it's a young game and it's got to find its own way, given enough time I am sure it will be great. Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction... |

I don't think it's fair to compare the two, they are the same genre but they both offer different things. PS2 is where to go for big immersive battles, but deaths cost nothing and territory switches sides so often there is no endgame or real progression. Dust allows a bit more progression, and a more diverse array of suits and weapons. There is more persistance and instead of just being 3 NPC factions running in circles around a large map like in PS2 there is some actual politics and strategy to a degree. The Dust gameplay is lacking but it's getting better. Nowadays whenever I log into PS2 it's hard to find a huge battle going on, and they are very one sided 90% of the time, like 30+ people and vehicles versus 5 lone infantry.
I may have a bias towards DUST but I think it has more to offer in the long run. PS2 is good though too. |

I dunno, I click instant action on matherson and get an error basically stating there are no battles to be found. Also SOE decided it was past due time to drop EVERYTHING and optimize the game delaying just about everything people have been complaining about the game the most. MAN UP! tell this man the honest truth. Don't make him waste his money on an expensive machine for a game that is not worth anyone's minute of time. It's like saying because a movie is bad, one doesn't have to worry because the sequels will get better. |

You can buy a PS3 second hand for about 100 Dollars these days, I wouldn't buy a new console so I could play any one game, but you are being hysterical saying DUST isn't worth "anyone's minute of time"
Just what are you comparing it to? AAA titles from Sony like BF3?
You are delusional if you think CCP have the kind of resources to develop a title like that, or ever will.. DUST 514 is free-to-play, not a 80 Dollar game or backed up to the hilt by Sony's billions. CCP are renters to Sony, not competition.
As for PS2, massive maps and huge numbers of players on each side in a FPS means that as soon as people start losing interest games becomes a big empty mess, we've seen it before. The honeymoon period is over for PS2 now, and besides SOE are terrible ppl! (SWG) |

The amount of money paid to CCP for an EVE subscription every year would get you a brand new PS3, especially with the PS4 coming out soon.
