Haven't you heard? It's popular nowadays to pass oneself as a seasoned, weather beaten bittervet and dismiss all other players as immature, unworthy sacks of manure.

Dunno. The new flying base thingy looks interesting, and CCP has said that it will iterate on it.

Actually CCP are going to start removing features to make the maintenance/update cycle shorter and easier for everyone. Let's just say that the T3 "rebalance" is going to be a bit of a harsher nerf than most people are expecting.

This is absolutely true. The players have asked - and CCP Seagull 100% agree - for features that are larger than those that can be delivered in a 6 month expansion cycle.
Shockingly enough this means that it will take more than 6 months for some of these features to appear.
Zappity wrote: I have reasonably high hopes.
EVEs players will always be able to generate hopes at a vastly higher rate than CCP can ever expect to fulfill. We collectively hold CCP to an incredibly high standard, which on the whole, they do an unreasonably good job of fulfilling. An occasional dose of realism on our part might not be a bad thing, though.

I think that is a fair comment.
Rubicon would be a success in my book if it delivered some highsec POCO ructions to keep people occupied until the next expansion. As long as Rubicon also includes a substantial amount of 'under the hood' work which is being built up for other features in the summer and subsequent releases I will be happy enough. My opinion is that the T2 ship changes are also going to disrupt a lot of long-held combat assumptions and break up several major combat metas.
But there's more.

So, to at once investigate the possible, to try and avoid stupid and mindless commenting and to explore why this latest FREE update of the product merits only our collective sneering derision [a position, by the way, that I do not share nor support], pray answer this simple question:
what would it take for you to consider Rubicon a fully-featured expansion, worthy of the name?
CCP Seagull, the least of whom it can be said that she is an enthusiastic team leader with a vision of where to take this, our fondly shared collective reverie, has stated that Rubicon is the first step, over a number of expansions, towards a radically new and different New Eden where we, arguably the most pampered and pandered to user base in the massively multi-player Online Gaming constellation, will get even more freedom to shape the outcomes of our collective interactions.
Somehow this bold, brash, bewilderingly enthusiastic, beguilingly ambitious, scrumptiously delicious banquet of art, shared hopes and dreams, byzantine complexity of code and generously shared with all comers for a mere pittance, just doesn't cut it for you. It's simply not enough, you want more knoepfkens, more blinkenlights, more... whatever wanders your idling mind on the way to a deeper engagement of what it means to be a New Eden pod pilot.
So, I am impressed by that. I stand in awe, and I'm not even being sarcastic. You have a better idea of where this gorgeous world of wonder and exploration should be going. This amazes me. If you have not considered joining CCP, you should do so forthwith. They -need- people like you.
In the mean time: share with us, lesser immortals, your dreams of a better New Eden tomorrow. Don't be a scrooge. Help us understand why your idea is better than the delight that is currently on offer, and I will enthusiastically join you in advocating precisely that through all the right (and wrong) channels.
So, out with it: where should we be going that we are not going to now? |

It is a sandbox game and so the content is player created not dev created. The changes to high sec customs is a huge change. The interceptor bubble immunity and the changes to warp speed generally are HUGE changes. a scanning ship that can run most exploration sites solo and can also pvp including via blops bridge is HUGE. a blops frig that can kill small ships easily is huge. the EAF becoming more than a joke will change the small gang and possibly fleet metas completely. you seem to have missed all of this and seem to think that the devs need to add more "quests" or something. the reply you find odd knows all this and thinks because you don't understand the basic concept of EVE and where the content comes from you should "go back to wow" a game where the content is made the the dev's and the players have no impact on the story which is clearly what you are looking for. the reply you found odd was just more pithy than my wall of text. |

Listening to CCP Seagull's comments at the announcement and the fanfest; I think we are at the begging of a structured change to the game. The high sec POCO change is a good way for CCP and the players to evaluate how potentially larger changes will affect the Eve universe. A low risk way to make a change to high-sec and see what happens. Opportunities for 'blowing stuff up' and industry; building more stuff.
It will be an interesting ride over the next few expansions. I am looking forward to seeing where we go and the opportunities presented in the game.

More tears than the barge "rebalance"? One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Now, let the stupid mindless comments continue. They may be not exactly new per se, but the way their purpose is explained suggests that from now on the path to "castles in space", something any real sandbox is unthinkable to me, is clear. It will take a lot of time before we'll have fully functional player-created complexes that serve some real purpose, but this small step to allowing us to have more real "sand" than just containers and bubbles is quite significant as long as the idea is going to be expanded upon in the future.
P.S. I always though that Minecraft PvP mech makes it kinda impractical if played by rules as written. Hopefully EVE will be able to fix this gaming shortcoming, even though it is approaching to the issue from the opposite end of it |

What do you expect? A new eve 2000 new systems? 20 new ships 300 modules? 100 new agents quest. 2 new rocks to mine. New T4 ships And some T2 BS? Is that what you want to have? This expands will mixs allot of the old PVP system. Some people that only know 1 trick in the book will be **** about this expands but for others its a new way to explore those new PVP system.
I think this expand "lets hoop" will be great. Love to test it. |
