Add it in program control in nortons and windows firewall depending on what you are using.
Just add the eve.exe
But you say you know a bit so you prob already tried that, cant think of anything else atm m8!

First thing I would do, is try to log in via another computer if possible. Narrow down the problem a bit - if you can sign in on another box, it's definitely an issue with your config. If not, it's an issue with your account.
I'm going to assume you can, or that you don't have the ability to test that easily (but try it anyway, if possible!).
So: please let us know more about your setup. Windows version, updates installed, other programs you have on it (Norton, McAfee, whatever), connection type, router (wireless or not), etc.

Open up port 26000 in your router or firewall for TCP and UDP.

Which router have you got?
Try typing 192.168.0.1 in internet explorer or firefox and see if the router interface comes up...
most of the time on routers as default user/pass
user: admin
Pass: password
Most routers these days have a built in firewall, you may need to allow access to the port that eve uses.... Port 26000.
Let me know which router and we'll take it from there.

Edited by: Calleb on 24/01/2006 14:20:34 Edited by: Calleb on 24/01/2006 14:19:21 you could try a tracert to the server to try and narrow down the problem.
start/run type in "cmd" enter
then type
tracert 157.157.139.10
This should give a list of pings from all the points on your connection between you and the server. If any of these points gives a stoopidly high ping on the rout (column 2,3 and 4 are ping times in ms. times lower than 50 is good) - that is probably where your problem lies. I get between 22 and 26ms.
If you have a high ping on rout, it could be time to look for a new ISP i think, not sure if anyone here could give any more/better advice on that particular problem. I am taking a wild guess here that you have maybe a very high ping (hundreds of ms) and your connection to the server is timing out before the authentication is being completed. Maybe also there is a way of increasing the timeout time??? had a quick look but not found anyhting obvious here.

You're going to need to be more specific on system specifications, especially your SpeedTouch USB modem. What model number is the DSL modem? SpeedTouch lists a number of different models that they produce.
I made the assumption that your SpeedTouch modem was a 330USB and checked the documentation on it. Unfortunately there's no way to configure anything under the hood of the modem.
As far as Dr. TCP is concerned, you need to pick out the adaptor you're trying to configure settings for prior to actually making any changes. In the "Adapter Settings" section, pick out your SpeedTouch USB Modem, if it's listed. Then slap an MTU of 1500 in the little white box next to it. Hit save, reboot, and try logging into EVE again.

Edited by: Alshoff on 24/01/2006 15:54:58 It's odd how he can use the internet in general but not sign in to the game
Hmm, do you have anything running in the background that might be interfering with EVE? Maybe spyware? or maybe a virus? Do a virus/spyware check, scandisk and defrag Also, try signing onto the game via another computer?

You tried reinstalling EVE.
If you can access the net, connection aint your issue.
Do you play any other online games where you have to connect via a client. do they work.
If EVE has worked before this issue, what happened (if you can remember) just before it didnt. did you install a new program, carry out an upgrade patch?
Did you try another PC?
