I don't say this very often lately with CCP's graphical changes, but the Marauder Bastion "transformation" is boring. It can hardly be called a "transformation". It is just a set of little flaps opening up on both ships it has been implemented on. It seems like some modeler took 20 minutes out of his day to move some vertices into an animation and slap it on an instruction set tied to the module activating.
This implementation is lazy, and not what I expect to see from CCP and is not in line with the rest of the great visual changes coming to eve. To be honest, I would like to see these animations redone to impact the model of the ship more, or be tossed out all together for another Triage-like visual effect on the ship. |

Witchking Angmar wrote:Zooming on your ship when exiting warp is very disorientating, and i cannot for the life of me see why anyone would want this in actual gameplay. I zoom out my camera to a certain distance because that's the distance i want to view the theater from, and i did so very much intentionally. To have the game zoom in close when i'm landing on grid is incredibly inconvenient, and it delays my decision making, having to zoom back out each time.
The massive info popups are obstructive and redundant. They could only ever be helpful to very new players, and even so, their helpfulness is extremely limited. Remove them completely, or give an option to turn them off.
The zooming is already confirmed as a bug, you camera will zoom automatically when any ship warps in, yours included. |

Kismeteer wrote:Just a heads up, a transition to entirely DX11 could cause significant problems to Linux players. We'd have to switch to Gallium3d or something to get it to work.
That being said, the current version works fine on sisi.
That is why they are not transitioning entirely to DX11, the original post said that it will automatically select DX version based on hardware support. They may change it entirely eventually, but not until DX11 is considered "industry standard" I'd guess. |

While I'm still disappointed by the marauder transformations so far, I am liking the effects work on bubbles, and I'm looking forward to seeing dx11 features implemented. Why on earth are you guys not releasing the high res textures with Rubicon, you have a ~250 page thread with people begging for them. This is one of the largest player driven feature threadnaughts in eve history, and still nothing even after dev responses saying it's being considered. |
