So let's say I buy the game online from CCP. I don't get a CD Key. Now let's say my account is hacked. How can I prove I am the original owner of the account? Do I have to supply the original credit card number with which I registered and the other original registration details? Is that enough?
I'm just thinking whether it was a wise move to buy the account online when I don't actually get any CD Key or hard copy of the game with which to prove ownership.

Just be careful and hope it doesnt happen.

Well you have the original billing address, email address and credit card number. Supplying that has to be enough (and is enough for CCP in the hacking cases)
It's not easy for someone to falsely claim ownership of an account when you are paying for it.

Hi Byloth.
I belive when you start your account up, you specify your e-mail address. You can then request a password change. An e-mail will be sent to your addrss, with the new password, and you can then logon and change it to your own preference again. Unless the hacker has access to your e-mail account, this should enable you to re-secure your Eve account.

The only problem is that if somebody manages to login to my account, he will immediately go and change the email address to a new one. It can also happen that the original owner needs to change the original email address entered (e.g. ISP change) so the original email address cannot be really relied upon when it comes to claiming ownership of an account...
