I recently started doing Lvl 4 missions again having been belt ratting in 0.0 for a good while. The bounties in 0.0 belts mean you can make around 6 - 12 mill an hour conservatively speaking, whereas the Lvl 4 mission payout + bonus + bounty comes in less than that. Thats fine in and of itself, but there is a large discrepancy between the difficulty of doing Lvl 4 missions solo and belt ratting - which is a doddle. Shouldnt the difficulty correspond to how much you make? - or are players doing the Lvl 4's not for the cash - but for the rarity of LP offerings at the higher end? Maybe it balances out - but for the moment Lvl 4's seem to be a bit of a punishing ordeal for comparitively little renumeration (and the loot aint great either).

in 0.0 problem is to have also players hunting you, the lvl 4 could be done in 0.6. That point could push a lot of people in the lvl4 way i think ---- Sauvez les castors, mangez la foret! |

Loyalty Points can easily be seen as a ISK-reward. Just try to calculate from some offers, how much the Loyalty Reward from one Agent mission is worth. I did that half a year ago and it seemed to equal the aproximate 0.0 belt NPC hunting. kind regards, Skel

Considering that for 30k LP you can get around an 80 million ISK offer from an agent that puts each LP at a value of about 2666 ISK. So for a mission where you get 1000 LP as well as the cash reward you could view that 1000LP as 2.6m.
However I think that making the same amount of money doing 0.0 ratting would be just as fun for me, something about always having to stay aware of the surroundings and making sure that no one is sneaking up behind you adds to the excitement and there is always the chance of a rare and very valuable drop in 0.0 ratting. I think both have their benefits depending on what you are looking for.

I have yet to see a commander spawn and I did a lot of lvl4s... The big rewards are the LP and the loot from Infiltrated Outposts. All things considered, 0.0 ratting must be much more profitable, but you also run a high risk of players killing you (much less you are in an alliance though) which is why I stick to lvl4s.

ratting in 0.0 is generally the way to go these days a 5 mil sp raven pilot can own most angel bs's without any real work the only thing that sucks is ammo so if your running from empire to 0.0 every day to rat you may get trapped and out of ammo if a gate camp comes in and closes your exit and you gotta warch your locals ALWAYS

well I'm not real heavily experienced yet with level 4 missions.... but I've got a agent thats rather decent and I topped 10k LP for the first time tonight. (not much compared to some, but I've run a few)
PERSONALLY I like it when I get an array of things accomplished at once. for level 4 missions, I get of course bountys, loot, mission reward/bonus, sec rating, corp standing, loyalty points...
and what I think is most important... density. theres a bunch, reliably, in a certain place. period. do those, go back, get another. bam, more right in a reliable place.
and another point being saftey in relation to PvP. doing level 4's in high sec, get your butt whooped, you can go back, fit your hull reps, undock and set them rolling. go take a whizz, get a drink, whatever. without any (signifigant) stress about people blowing you up. (of course its always SOME threat and all.. but relatively speaking)
I guess it makes me sound carebeary and all, but various inclinations and "moods" and whatnot.
not having LP, standing, mission reward/bonus, and more importantly lack of density, predictability(in some things unpredictable is good. in others its annoying and stressful in a negative way, rather than an exciting way) and gaining the risk of gankage and all... I have little interest in 0.0 ratting.
