I've never flown a Zealot, but I will say that you'll need more than 4 points of scramble to stop all ships. If you're happy to lose the odd BS or two because he's more stabbed than you can deal with, then that Vengeance is an acceptable tackler. If you want to make sure you don't lose anything but ridiculously stabbed Geddons and such, then have your friend in a Stiletto, if he can fly one. They're <3 at the moment.

Not sure on DPS atm, i'm at work, i'll work it out later on...
I've got almost the same setup:
4x Heavy Pulse Laser IIs 1x True Sansha Medium Nosferatu
1x Domination 10MN Afterburner 1x Domination Stasis Webifier 1x Domination Warp Disruptor
1x Corpum A-Type Medium Armor Repairer 1x Centum A-Type Energized Adaptive Nano 1x Centum A-Type Energized Thermal Membrane 2x True Sansha Heat Sink 2x Dark Blood Heat Sink
Lowest resist is 73% on EM, and I haven't got the Armor Compensation skills to more than 3
I calculated the DPS to be 463.9 yesterday. I've got HAC 5, but not Medium Pulse Spec 5. ______________________

Edited by: Litus Arowar on 07/04/2006 12:57:56 why is your tackler a vengeance? just so it can run those warp scramblers? its survivability is only slightly better than a malediction (yeah, the resistences are a decent bonus, but that's it)
try a malediction running this:
2 x Rocket Launcher II* 2 x Small Dim Nos
1 x 1MN AB II 2 x Faint Epsilon Scrambler
1 x Small Repper II 1 x MAPC 1 x 200mm Tungsten
* fit Gatling Pulse Laser IIs if you prefer
why is this better than the vengeance? your signature radius is 24.75 meters, and your AB2 can run full time, giving you a max speed of 1384m/s... this improves survivability, especially in conjunction with a tracking disruptor... and you still have over 1000 hitpoints... also, your dual rocket launchers allow you to vary damage type based on target's weakness... this means you can go EM for the shields and explosive for the armour, making you more useful than a vengeance in my humble opinion... and besides, let's not find roles for the vengeance, it's a lousy ship, if you use it CCP might not realize this

A zealot with an Ab is still dog slow so unless ure camping a gate with setup ure gona have trouble catching them. But most people seem to be using abs on their pvp setups which really gives you no versatility. Whats the point of having a slow moving cruiser if you want to be slow then use a bs to do the job better.
Also you cant really reli on ure buddy to keep him scramed if iw as the one u were up against ild immediatly take out the frig since ild guess he was the primary tackler and then simply outrun the zealot. your best having the frig fit a web/scram and you fit a disruptor.

'Zealot' and 'gank' no longer belong in the same sentence, not after nerfed dmg mods anyway.
Whats really hilarious is that an Ishtar can do everything your Zealot and Vengeance can do combined, just better More dps, more cap drain, equal scrambling strength as well as tracking disruption.
Don't take it as a flame, just saying how it is ¼_¼ - _____

Has anyone suggested changing the 4 Heavy pulses to 2 Heavy pulses and 2 Focused pulse, for reasons mentioned in the Omen 'Vanguard' setup?

And that would help increase your already sub-par damage how?...

The link mentioned that the only reason the Omen didnt use a full rack of HPL II was to save CPU. A full rack of HPL II on a Zealot hardly takes a hit on the PG or CPU.
So unless there is some special purpose behind not using a full rack of HPL II and losing dps and dot, Ill still with 4 Heavy Pulse II's.

Talks about the difference between it's alpha and DoT in that post, just says about the cpu first, which I'll agree is probably a moot point on a zealot.
Besides it was just a question, you could've just said no.

Antyhing you use can and will be outblobbed often. If its a tank and gank set up that can not run away decently (ab lol) then you should think about using disposable ships. Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

if i were u i'd stop trying to get everything running permanently and worry about how much u can tank. zealot with single rep, no plate, no eanm's, drops like nothing.
if i were u i'd go with an 800 plate and medium rep or even twin med rep. if u want more cap then cap inject it. 1 rcu in the lows can make yea fit heavy pulse II's, 3 heat sink II's, 800 plate, medium rep, medium injector, ab etc all quite nicely. and the relays won't help ya if u get a couple of heavy nos on u but injector will. just my thoughts

For the stated purpose, I'd go heavy pulse, nos, mwd, injector, web, rep, plate, thermal and adaptive resist mod, heatsinks, pg rigs.. Use malediction or crow to warp jam from outside heavy nos range.
Or actually, for the stated purpose, I'd go muninn, 'cane, brutix, myrm, eos, claymore, sleipnir.. Or if you absolutely must use amarr, harbinger or geddon.
