Interstellar News
Going to any length to bring you the news you want to know.
Hello, I am Cygnus Arnimane reporting for Interstellar News.
Caldari Navy forces are operating unsanctioned in Federation space. Sources within the Federal Navy and freelance agents working for the Federation, have brought forth this startling news. Our sources stated that they disrupted the actives of Caldari forces that were engaged in illegal jump gate construction as well as base construction.
Government officials for the Caldari State deny the claims. Federal officials promise a full investigation and appropriate action taken.
So we took this question to you, the people on the street.
ôWhat do you think about these Caldari incursions and what should be done about them?ö
*the scene cuts to random people interviewed on the street*
*from a well dressed man* ôUmmm, well, ahhh. It is terrible. Maybe we can try talking? Find out what they want?ö
*to trendy woman* ôLike, arenÆt the Calamari some fish type people from the holos?ö
*to a fashion conservative woman* ôI do not understand why they would bother. We have nothing they want. If they persist, we should meet their force with our own. It seems the only language they understand.ö
*lastly to a grungy man* ôToast them all! Rawr!!!ö
*scene fades then changes to Cygnus piloting her ship*
We have managed to arrange an interview with one Caldari woman who has been looking for information about her husband. It just so happens her husbandÆs authenticated Navy tags are in our possession. It seemsàOh! Hold on. I am receiving a comm message.
à
What?
à
Oh my gosh! Shemar, we have a bounty on us!
à
What?!
à
We are being targeted!
*the video suddenly cuts out but audio is still active*
ZOMG! Stop shooting at us! We are with the press!
Ahhhh!!!
Grrr! ThatÆs it! You are so going to be toast!!!
*audio fades then the scene changes to Cygnus interviewing a young Caldari woman*
Thank you very much for meeting with us.
*the woman nods*
Can I ask why you were looking for your husband?
ôI had a terrible feeling something happened to Henry and the Navy would only tell me he was on assignmentö
You did not believe us when we contacted you at first?
ôNo, no I didnÆt.ö
But you contacted us later and had changed your mind?
ôYes. It was after I started getting messages. Messages that were supposed to be from Henry, butàbut I could just tell they were not.ö
Certainly the Navy provides cloning for its pilots incase the worst happens.
ôI do not know. Henry never said anything about a clone. This was his first assignment outside the academy, maybe he was too new.ö
How would you feel if I told you Henry was escorting a slaver convoy in Federation space and was killed in a space battle with Federal agents?
*the Caldari womanÆs composure breaks and she begins to cry as she continues*
ôHenry was a good man! He only wanted to provide a better life for us.ö
I am certain Henry was a very good man. So what will you do now?
ôIàI donÆt know. I wish none of this happened. Why does it have to be like this?ö
*the scene fades and then changes back to the studio*
Indeed, why does it have to be like this? Before we broadcast this story we saw to the young Caladari womanÆs safety as she chose to move to a new place to try to rebuild her life. We wish her all the best of luck. This is Cygnus Arnimane for Interstellar News signing off.

More sensationalist tripe from the Gallente media. It reads just like one of the trashy holo-dramas your agents spew across space. Why would anyone believe your lies and propaganda? Especially since they are clearly only intended to obscure the true reports of repeated incursions by Federation forces into sovereign Caldari territory.

First off, I am going to sue you for property damage to my brain.
Second, if a good Caldari citizen dies in service to the State, that is something to be proud of. That... slime... you interviewed should be inprisoned for such a shameful display in front of cameras. Her undoubtadly loyal husband died for her protection and well-being and this is how she repays his spirit - by prostituting her emotions for the Gallente's amusement!? Such a wonderful thing, Caldari brainwashing. How brilliantly it blocks everything contradicting it and shifts the mind to other matters.
I wonder if I am at the point where I pity some Caldari, instead of just thinking of them as little more than drones.

I find your 'news' report to be highly questionable. You accuse us Caldari of being in league with slavers, of illegally constructing a gate, and yet you offer no proof to back up your claims. Indeed your own audio recordings would seem to indicate that you are as bloodthirsty and violent as you try and paint my own people as being.
As for the public display of the poor ladies grief, its no wonder that she is seeking to build a new life elsewhere. In the State, grief is a private matter to be shared with the family and close friends, not prostituted across the airwaves in a bid to garner better viewing figures.
I suggest you take some real lessons in journalism before claiming to be associated with any legitimate news service. Oh, and providing proof of your claims would be a good start too.

The proof has been presented in many other discussions, including photographic evidence and authenticated Caldari Navy insignia and dog tags. Contact me privately if you would like some links or additional evidence. That applies to everybody who is looking for the actual truth and not for ways to reconcile with the State propaganda.

If the Caldari Navy had been forthcomiing with her husband's fate, instead of her finding out through us, maybe she would have a chance to do as you indicated.

So, 'legitimate' in that you get to decide what news you report. Lets see...
Biased: 1. A preference or an inclination, especially one that inhibits impartial judgment. 2. An unfair act or policy stemming from prejudice.
However, that said, I see there is one bit of truth in your 'entertainment' network. I dont think even the Amarrians consider the killing of prisoners a 'public sport'. Thank you for providing me with further proof of why the Federation is a stain on the soul of the human race and needs to be erradicated.
I used to think Quafe, with the toxic levels of Garbage and Tobacco used in its manufacture was bad. I find this 'entertainment' network of yours to be even worse.
Oh, and as for your so called proof, I am fairly certain I could arrange for 'proof' of your own government carrying out the same actions to be made available with very little effort. You have produced no evidence that cannot be easily faked. You provide no evidence that these insignia's were collected in the fashion you suggest. Indeed I would suspect (obviously I have no proof of this either, but proof would not seem to be required for your 'news' network) that you have been killing legitimate State patrols just to collect the items required for your 'evidence'. As for the pictures, we all know how easily pictures and holorecordings can be faked by any highschool student these days.
At this point I refuse to cause the family of the previously mentioned citizen more pain by further discussing the events. I, at least, am willing to show some respect to their grief.
And my recommendation in journalism lessons still stands. Although I can understand your reluctance since they would try and teach you things like ethical reporting.

That issue has been excausted and really coming back to square one, in a totally unrelated topic and blindly ignoring all the clarifications given just shows your lack of any real arguments on topic.

What a fine example of keeping yourself blind to the truth. Fortunately for us, we have no need to convince you of anything. The truth is out there for anyone receptive to it. The rest can live in their own little bubbles.

So, because I choose not to agree with your own interpretation of reality, I am keeping myself blind to the truth? Every word you say just goes further towards proving that you are not so much providing 'news' as propoganda. At least have the decency and moral fibre to admit what you stand for and what your goals are, instead of hiding behind the facade of 'legitimate news reporters'. It should be self evident to any free thinking individual that your sole goal is to provoke discord, even war, between the Federation and the State. Given the death toll last time you people tried to enforce your beliefs on us, I am amazed that you are even considering trying it again.
Before persuing your attempts at propoganda and incitement of the Gallente people against us, I suggest you review your history of what the last war cost. The Hueromont Incident, the orbital bombardment of Caldari Prime and the countless millions of innocents killed. Are these the scenes you would see repeated once more?
However, I suspect I am wasting my breath arguing with you. You have clearly bought into your own Federations lies about freedom and happiness, always forgetting that your own society is built on as much if not more blood than our own State. I only hope that your mind isnt so addled by drugs that you can realise how the brainwashed ones here are yourselves, not the citizens of the State.

Let's make some things clear:
I was the pilot that killed the Caldari Navy Officer in question, along with hunderds of others, while defending Federation space and it's citizens. I have no illusions about reality. I have personally seen the Caldari Navy protecting Amarr slave camps and attempting to construct secret stargates.
If you are so twisted that no matter the evidence or in how many ways it can be authenticated you will still turn around and call it a fake, that's not my problem.
Another example of your failure to grasp reality is the assumption that I, or any reasonable Gallente for thet matter, would want war with the Caldari. Why? The Caldari have nothing that we could possibly want.

If you are so interested in peace, why are you making such a big issue out of this? What could you possibly gain from this situation other than to cause trouble between the State and the Federation?

Are you serious?
The Caldari Navy is supporting Amarr slaver operations withing Federation space. It is a big deal. Don't you think Caldari citizens would like to know about it? I am pretty sure Federation citizens do.
What if that is not official Caldari Navy sanctioned missions? What if it is just a minority of units gone rogue and by exposing them we can stop it? Wouldn't that be to the ultimate benefit of the State?
