Ok, you run missions, hunt rats, whatever. Do you
a) Sell every scrap?
b) Melt it all down?
c) Save everything?
...or do you do something in-between. I'm a pack-rat, and I think I need to start melting tons of this down. I probably should also buy some lockers to organize my collection. :-)

I reprocess and sell everything. Sometimes I get something named or whatever that's worth more selling as it is so I don't reprocess those.
In my hangar, I only keep extra modules for my ships. This is so that if my ship every blows up, I can fit a new one fast.

I sell whatever I can and melt the rest down. Then I either sell the mins or keep them for building ships. Named/useful stuff gets dropped into the most appropriate station can.

If it's the nice named stuff that sells for >200k, I'll sell it. Everything else... reprocessed. That's how I get my mega and zyd for manufacturing. ----- I want my sig h4xx0r3d by Oveur! ...but I'll settle for any mod since Oveur can't h4x like the best of 'em... |

I save it. I think I've sold less than 20 different kinds of loot drops in the last two years. ---------------- Main as main can be.

I normally refine it, or keep it to stash in the corp hanger. I think I got a few mill isk worth of stuff in a single hanger, including a Cormorant Caldari Navy Surplus yarrbqwtfpwn4g3! ~kieron Imaran > Kieron - Immy

Reprocess all excepted named/faction loot. ------------------------------------------------ Pirates are people too. So, stop by at a local Low-Sec system to chat. Please, bring loads of expensive cargo, and leave all WCS and weapons behind |

I have a station container with all the named stuff dumped in it - if I know it's valuable, I put it on sale, but there's god only knows how many Secure Magnetometric bits and bobs in there that sell for a little more than diddly squat.
Everything regular, I melt down ... scrapmetal processing 4tw.

(A) I collect it all
(B) Save it up
(C) Sort thorough it all for good /rare mods
(D) Refine with my uber refine skills
(F) Use the minerals to build more ammo to kill npc with and build new ships to replace lost ones with my uber build skills
To POD or to be PODDED that is the Question ?

1. Save up until I can't stand looking through all of it for the one mod I need. 2. Take the named mods the corpmates and I want. 3. Put my otherwise useless 2mil of industry to use, and refine it. 4. Make loads of ammo and repeat. ------ Black Storm Clan - It's safer here

Depends. I make my living from killing rats and selling the spoils, so I can't just leave everything, but it's sometimes too much trouble to figure out a fair price for every last thing.
1) Missiles and ammo are almost always melted down.
2) Anything for which I can get less than 30K is usually melted down. Sometimes I raise that limit to 100K. However, if I have a large number of something (afterburners, shield boosters) for which I *know* there is a market and will be sold, I will sometimes put them up for sale.
3) I will usually sell anything for which I can get 100K or more.
The more the average price of the loot I am harvesting, the higher my "sell vs. melt" threshold. Also, if I am already maxed out on sell orders, I will tend to melt goods down rather than try to get the odd 50K for them.
If I am ratting against low-level mobs, I will tend to leave their loot rather than take it, with the exception of loot from larger ships. I only tend to do this when I get impatient and am not in the mood to fly 50km so I can pick up a few tungsten rounds and a civilian shield booster, or what have you.

I collect it all, if its something worth using on a ship (named cap recharger warp scrambler etc) then i keep it, its its worth 500k or more I'll sell it and the rest gets refined.

I tend to keep at least one of everything...the more I play, the more I find items that I'd written off as not so great are actually pretty useful, after all.
Most of the gear I use is scavenged and I keep plenty of spare parts for when I lose a ship. I buy a few key items through the market, but I prefer getting the gear I use as the spoils of combat.

1. Save whats Useful for PVP/What people I know need 2. Sell off everything worth more than about 500K that I don't want. 3. Reprocess the rest for Ammo/Ships

I put it in the section of the corp hanger called scrapyard. From there it a little fairy takes it and magically transforms it into good stuff that she puts into the ships and mods section.
Well thats how I think it works.

I hoard everything for weeks and then go on a refining spree, melting everything I can find in a fit of destrucion.... this has led to the loss of many many things that I didn't actually want to refine...

i live in 0.0 so i melt it down, it's enough to give me a good supply of amoo frigs and cruisers no point in mining veld in friggin 0.0 --------------------------- My opinions are my own and not nessecarily those of my corp or alliance.

i collect everything, when i need some high end mins i'll go and melt a batch of say co-pro's but i'll always leave at least 10. i have well over a billion isk in mods after 2 years playing. sell the faction stuff that i dont use on my main ships.
having a good store of loot is always useful when you try out new ships or setups, or when a mate needs something.
but it is far too much trouble selling every little item. and donate tonnes to the corp for newbs every now and then ------#------ If my posts become incoherent, then it's probably cause my boss walked in, and i forgot where i was. |

Edited by: Maestro Ulv on 06/02/2006 11:46:09 I tend to leave mine till it turns into yellow aggression countdowns as people nick it. Wish there was an option to turn that damn thing off when it comes down to loot!
Blood loot tends to be looked at though, Gurista crap, never.
Oh yeah, then I only pick the stuff worth anything and sell it on.

Everything useless/good minerals -> recycled. Useful named stuff -> corp eq hangers. Stuff >20mil value -> dumped in the can of "stuff to sell someday" Stuff in the can called "stuff to sell someday" -> recycled when I forget why I put it in that can :p Or when I recycle the can and notice "hey I missed some recycling" BSes in hanger -> I've had some accidents.
