Okay, I was told that the agent that offers you storyline missions was based on whichever was closest in proximity, as long as they worked for the same faction as you were doing missions for...
Doesn't seem to work this way...
I was doing missions for Republic Fleet in Hadozeko. Now, there are a plethora of storyline agents near me, including one from Republic Fleet 1(!) jump away from me. But no, the storyline agent that spoke to me was 6 jumps away and worked for Republic Justice Department... Now there were a total of 9 storyline agents closer to me than the one that I was given that do belong to the Minmatar Republic. What gives?

Yeah I agree, I am doing level 4 kill missions and now I get this storyline mission that I should bring 13000 units of mexallon to a station 1 jump away.
I didnt do this cause it fubars my total standing with gallente which is allready bad, and the rewards are not satisfying. . Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Well I'll do another 16 missions for this same agent and see if it was a one-time thing.
It would be great if there was at least some control over who you get... I thought I'd found a great spot, all the storyline agents around me were in combat divisions and some were even part of the same corporation (big boost in standings!). But so far, it's not working out.

Same here, although my agents like sending me to a storyline agent in Amamake. Not only is it a long trek there, it's also a festering 0.4 choke-point hell-hole.
Very occasionally I get a storyling agent a couple of jumps away. If I'm lucky.

I actually have a storyline agent of my corp in the same system I run missions from. Yet some of the agents insist on sending me to storyline agents of a different corp 3+ jumps away. Others send me to the one in my system. Very inconsistent and extremely frustrating. Wish CCP would fix that.

Yes, Amamake, that's the one I was sent to too. Hmm... maybe that guy is just very important for giving certain storyline missions, or maybe the others are more important?
I seem to remember CCP saying there would be "basic" storyline mission agents and "special" storyline mission agents, based on importance. Maybe all the agents close to me are special, and the one in Amamake is basic?
Very confusing.

Lucky you. I have a level 3 and level 4 agent in my home system for Peace and Order but have never ever ever had a P&O storyline mission. Two different mining corps keep giving me storylines, and one of them is 8 jumps out. Pretty screwed up system.

Tell me about it. No matter which Gallente Federation corp I work for, no matter where in the galaxy, I always get sent to Zalloronde Algogille at Oursulaert III.
The Devs had better fix that. I am fed up of being forced to go to the same place.

I'm currently working for the caldari navy, running 2 lvl 2 agents from the same station. This station also contains a navy storyline agent, and that's the one I get every time.

I get the same thing... always to Oursulaert... Only time I ever go there.
Here is a trick to getting a different stroyline agent. When you get one from an agent you don't like don't do it right away. Just run missions, you will get a stroyline mission from a different agent if you have not accepted the prior one yet. I just let Zalloronde sit out there until he is aboout to expire before excepting his mission. This way i get storylines from an agent 1 jump from my home system.
