In my dealings with athletes you would rarely see the L5 dermatome affect only the distal aspect of the innervation line but I would not say that it is impossible to have some form of impingement of the Saphenous nerve in the ankle region if there was some form of trauma. You said you stayed up later then usual. Were you innebriated. Other then that you could have a Morton's Neuroma between the 1st and 2nd digits. Slade
After reading this I recommend chopping off your foot. |

wasnt innebriated, lol, just playing BF3 for too long like a nerd.
its odd. only the front half of my big toe feels 'numb', but i can feel my fingernail if i run it along the toe itself.
The toe isnt discolored at all either and i have full motion.
I'm going to an osteopath soon anyway, im sure he'll know whats going on.
Stop sitting around so much and get up and exercise , I bet it all goes away eventually. They did a study recently about poor circulation problems in people that spend most of their waking time sitting at a desk etc. http://www.npr.org/2011/04/25/135575490/sitting-all-day-worse-for-you-than-you-might-think ...notice the image towards the bottom of the article and do the dance |

Ooooooooh! Could be the onset of adult type II diabetes. Your body doesn't absorb glucose as well as it should and the glucose pools in the extremities. Having too much glucose running around your bloodstream can cause nerve damage and vascular damage.
Tinfoil. It should be at the top of everyone's food pyramid.

Was the room cold where you have been sleeping in? Sounds to me like a common reaction of cold + slippery/closed off veins. You should only be worried if it turns black or stays blue.
Nope I am not a doctor, I used to study for becoming a biomedical lab technician... does that count? =D ~ When everything fades away, an echo is the only sound that will remain ~ -á-á~ Chaos is a name for any order that produces confusion in our minds ~ |

Since the lack of sensation is very minor (and may only be impacting a few nerve endings), try some exercise, along with keeping yourself hydrated. Most likely, its a transitory phenomena, but if it continues, you should go see a dr. for it. |

I once fell asleep with my arms hanging off the bed and a pillow over them (ahh to be a teenager again, able to sleep in whatever position you achieve when you stop moving). When I woke up, both my arms were numb to the point I couldn't move them, and I couldn't see them for the pillow. In a brief moment of sleep-induced terror, I thought my arms had fallen off.
The pins and needles I experienced a few moments later were the stuff of legend. |
