Question: Is there some additonal benefit to having shares other than the monthly profit payout? Given my math, it seems it would take around 40 months to pay back the initial investment on any share purchased at 20million isk. So, purely from a monetary standpoint, that seems like a long time to wait for payoff of initial investment, given that lots of things could go wrong or right between now and 2009. So, just wondering if there is some other benefit that I don't know about. Either way, good luck! ----------

There's no other benefit that I know of, the reason people are prepared to pay for them is that they seem to have held their value (actually increased as they cost 10M each when it floated).
Paying 15M each, taking a months dividend and then selling them on @15M is pretty safe and well worth doing. I just need ISK for mineral projects, I can't play the mineral market with shares :)

Well, investing in shares beats the 0% ROI you get on that checking account. As has also been stated, the capital is retained so you can sell them off later on.

Unless of course the station has a change of ownership. |

If each return 15.3m why you sell them in first place? 535m /m isn't that bad.
If ofc they actualy have profit 15.3m each/month (could someone from ISS confirm it?)then I need 12 @ 18m

One share @ 20 mil.
(I will take a second @ 16 mil if that would be a winning bid).

Currently the lots is divided:
1 @ 20M 15 @ 17M 15 @ 16M 4 @ 16M
They guy who wanted to pay 18M for them was confused about the return rate and qualified his bid, so I won't hold him to it. I'd rather sell to one person as it makes transferring much easier, but at the moment they're split. Selling things that can be split up is confusing, but their fungibility is what makes them attractive.
And yes, I'm selling as I need the cash to buy and sell minerals, the more cash I have the more minerals I can move around in one go. It makes my costs lower, economies of scale and all that :)

Auction over!
I'll contact people in order of price, and if people bid the same price the person who wanted to buy more shares will be contacted first.
thanks everyone
