Hey guys, very new to EVE Online. I have a couple question regarding doing 1v1 dueling. I want to get back in the game again since taking time off from it and I want to practice on building my fighting skills. Yes i have an account for almost a year but i havent really played. I still havent even finished the tutorial..lol.
In any event, like i said, i like to get into practicing fighting with 1v1 duels. So my question is:
1. When doing 1v1 duels, do you get back your entire ship and fitting if you insured the ship or am i buying a whole new set again? (I ask this question because i like to do as many 1v1 duels as possible, but i don't want to go broke doing it.)
2. When doing 1v1 duels is it common not to "Pod"? I believe that's what its called.
I saw this being done on youtube with this one guy and he was fighting every other day and losing his ships. So I was saying to myself is he spending evrytime on ships and fittings..can't be.
Thanks for any help.

So even if insured? I thought if ship is insured you get it back free because you insured it. Why insure a ship if you dont get your ship and fittings back??? |

If your ship explodes in space, you never get it back. Insuring gives you some ISK back depending on which insurance you chose. Platinum is most expensive but gives you back the most ISK. It is not much though. If you duel and die, you lose everything. Oh, and people will gladly kill your pod too
My mistake, i meant to say you get your money back. As long as i get most of my money back im fine then.
Thanks for the help.
I want to get out their and get my ass kicked and hopfully do the same. |

Insurance usually should pay you back 50-100% of the base hull price. So if you're going to lose your ship, you should always insure it as you'll get back some of the money that you spent... but it's not a lot. If you're 1v1'ing your fittings will be your most expensive part so insurance only helps a little rather than a lot.
You can duel anyone within CCP's dueling system anywhere in Eve. However, you want people to stick to 1v1's I'd stay in high-sec.
Thanks for the help, Baron.
Yeah i saw that in the video where you send out an invite for the duel and it needs to be accepted by the other player. Got it.
Have no clue what "Pod warping" is. need to look that up then. |
