With Rubicon, you can use the new Mobile Depot to swap out your ship's modules. This allows a mission runner to swap out weapons and tank in the middle of the mission. For laser users, this means you can swap between Pulse and Beam weapons on the fly without delay due to the insta-reload aspect of lasers.[1] For other weapon systems, you will still have to suffer through a 5 or 10 second reload delay when swapping between long and short range weapons.
However, as spiffy as this is, you cannot use 'Saved Fittings' to automatically swap out your fits when using the Mobile Depot, which means you have to manually drag and drop items between the fitting window and your cargo, container in cargo, or Mobile Depot's cargo. Can we say Repetitive Stress Injury?
So... does anyone have any recommendations on good Macro software to automate using the Mobile Depot to swap between fittings?
Edit: we're talking about playing back the macro at normal human speed and not at an accelerated speed.
In theory, this particular use of macroing shouldn't be a problem, as per http://community.eveonline.com/support/policies/third-party-policies/, specifically 6.A.3. "3. You may not use your own or any third-party software, macros or other stored rapid keystrokes or other patterns of play that facilitate acquisition of items, currency, objects, character attributes, rank or status at an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play.", since swapping fittings in missions doesn't seem, IMHO, to fall in the above definition.
However, this is CCP's game, and they can clarify, expand, or change the rules as they see fit.
[1] Would it be too much to ask to combine Tachyons and Pulse lasers into a single module, the Pulse Tachyon Laser? Simply to avoid this whole macro business, of course. |

its against the eula, they asked this question years ago in regards to using it to swap carrier fittings under fire.
and the answer is no, you cant do it.
also, making threads trying to be a smartass who found some way around the EULA seems to be this months fad... |

"accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play" Macros can be played back at normal speed, i.e. not at an accelerated speed. The goal here is to avoid RSI and tedium in general.

What is not clear? You quoted it:
"You may not use macros or other stored rapid keystrokes"
And you ask "so, this mean I can use macros" and "does anyone have any recommendations on good Macro software to automate using the Mobile Depot ?"
My english is pooor, not my first language, however even to me sounds pretty clear:

A yurt + a spare damage mod would cost me 55m3, which means it costs me 2x cap 800 boosters or 4 large rep cycles to bring it in my mission runner, and my mission runner can already enter missions with 4 damage mods and tank the peak damage output even with armor tanked (and subsequently a rack of midslot applied damage mods).
Also tanking more heavily at the start of an encounter is a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy, in that a faster dps ship will bring more of the enemy ships down before they reach their optimal, so I'm not convinced that a yurt is going to do anything but make me slower.
I also did the maze last night in a droneboat, without losing a drone to the omfgwtfbbq number of elite frigates throughout it, ie so my main use case - replace drones without leavihg the maze, seems to be partially solved now by a different fitting choice anyway. |

"You may not use ... macros or other stored rapid keystrokes ... at an accelerated rate when compared with ordinary Game play."
Meaning, you cannot use macros to play "faster" than an ordinary player. For example, playing back a macro at ten times normal speed in order to swap out your lows for a DCUII and hull expanders when suicide gankers start attacking you, would most likely be a violation.

It says; You may not use your own or any third-party software, macros or other stored rapid keystrokes or other patterns of play that facilitate acquisition of items, currency.
Which is what you're asking for. Oh god. |

Which is what you're asking for. FTFY.
Anyway, if enough people think that macro'ing is against the rules in general despite what the policy says, then I probably need to petition a GM to get clarification.

The accelerated rate is talking about the acquisition of items, not the speed of the macros. Becoming more efficient in what you're doing by using macros will accelerate the game play, even if the macro is done at human speed.
With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

You also have to look at all of the rules that CCP has spelled out. Here is what is currently in the Terms of Service:
Eve Online Terms of Service wrote: 21. You will not attempt to decipher, hack into or interfere with any transmissions to or from the EVE Online servers, nor will you try to create or use any third party add-ons, extras or tools for the game.
Rengerel en Distel is exactly correct in his interpretation of the EULA, as that is the historical interpretation put out by CCP. But even if you are correct about the EULA, what you want to do in using a third party tool for switching out the fittings would use a tool that violates the ToS.

Missions are mostly in so called dungeons that you get through acceleration gates. Can mobile depot be deployed into this kind of place? Earlier years microwarpdrive module was not working in these. Mikhem

Personally, I'm half tempted to get a Paladin and hot-swap between tachyons and mega-pulse lasers in the middle of combat.
