I have been away for a bit and so much has changed.
What is a good Ice Mining fit now using Tech II stuff? I used to use the Hulk and had lots of shield hardeners and cargo expanders. It seems like that's not even close to a good solo ice ship now.
I will play with EFT and see what I can come up with as well. |

Depends where your mining, High, low or null?
Null you need to worry about rats, lowsec you need a dead system (good luck finding a dead ice system), highsec you need to worry about getting ganked. |

The answer to all of those situations is a procurer or skiff.
Hi sec you probably want full tank to protect from stupid people.
Low or null you bug out when neuts or reds enter system, so you just need enough tank to handle rats. Full tank for complete solo, or an ice upgrade if you have friends or an alt to help.
Mack is nice for the ore bay, but I find skiff is the way to go in basically any real situtation. |

For ice mining, I'd recommend a Procurer or Skiff.
Quote:[Procurer, Highsec Ice] Ice Harvester Upgrade II Ice Harvester Upgrade II
Medium Shield Extender II Kinetic Deflection Amplifier II Thermic Dissipation Amplifier II Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Ice Harvester II
Medium Ice Harvester Accelerator I Medium Core Defense Field Extender I Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Hobgoblin II x5
With the procurer's bonuses, you'll get a block of ice about every 50 seconds. Exhumers get an additional bonus based on exhumer skill. There is more than enough cap/power to run the invulnerability continuously. If you are mining in low, use 2x warp core stabilizers.
Gankers tend to use catalysts, which use hybrid ammo, so the shielding should probably run towards kinetic/thermal. |
