Hi,
When trading and analizing market data i noticed mismatch in item price data values. Here is an example:
http://i.imgur.com/agTwO6K.png
2013.10.25 bought item for 1,344 bil, but price history shows lowest price for that day is 1,75 bil.
So, is this a bug or am I missing something? If this is a bug, how traders can trust given information when analizing and trading in market? Is it correct to guess that there might be more incorect market data for various items?
I apreciate informative replies, thanks :) |

The price history has filters applied to the data. The parameters for what data gets filtered out is not known. The historical data isn't 100% accurate, but close enough. |

As Molic stated, some trades are removed from the price history. Either because they are too low, or too high (outliers). CCP has a secret formula that determines whether a trade is an outlier or not. |

I see. So basically, they "fix" price "spikes" like in this example:

But it also makes me wonder, why this one for example looks not fixed:

Price values for Genolution 'Auroral' 197-variant arent that much different 1,34 bil and 1,75 bil, but price for Drone Transceiver jumps like 15 times above avarage price. |

Yes, the 'weight' of a potential outlier seems to be a factor.
I believe the idea is to keep traders from manipulating the chart with small, 'crazy' orders, while still trying to recognize 'real' orders. |
