Hi all, no doubt this is a silly noob question, but i just bought my first 'new' ship at a station other than my home one.
how do i get them BOTH back to my home station. can i fly 2 at once? or can i transport myself back somehow without a ship? or am i stuck with always having to have one at the 'other' station because i cant get both back.
its a bit like driving your car to go buy a new one without having a mate to drive your old one back!

You can purchase a shuttle to travel between stations and either leave it at the station when you are done or reprocess or resell it.

Yah, you'll end up with dozens of shuttles eventually.
Every single station sells shuttles; typically of one particular race. That doesn't matter, though, as any race can fly any other race's shuttle... so you're good to go. _______ See you in Vegas! |

In which case you need to take advantage of a ship with a hold large enough to carry a repackaged shuttle. (500m3) Another way of keeping all those shuttles from lying around!
Using a hauler of course is another way to pick up ships from other stations, just check the packaged size of the ship you want to move and make sure the hauler has a big enough cargo hold.

word of advice, more for the future... IF you repackage a ship that is Insured, the insurance is deemed Null and Void... when you unpackage it, you MUST re-insure it. Lost 3 destroyers uninsured before i figured this one out

So, I'll assume that the big 'if you repackage an insured ship, it will cancel the insurace' popup that appears is new. ----- Lucid but lost... |

you could always approach the station and click dock, when you hear "docking request accepted" eject from your current ship. your ship will dock and leav you outside in a pod, just make sure no on is about the 1st few tmes you try it. after a couple of goes it will work every time. -------------------------------------------------- PLACEBO

The message that pops up when you insure mentions it, but when I was a pure Green Noob (now I consider myself a little more weathered newb) I didn't know what repackage ment, and began ignoring it after the first time I read it. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone else has done this

Buy shuttle, travel to new ship, either sell shuttle or melt it and sell mins. Assemble new ship, fly back.
Easy.
